“I love you too, baby boy.”

We kiss for minutes, arms around each other with the coastal breeze wrapping us up in a summer chill.

“I’m gonna get you a ring,” Tommy speaks against my mouth.

“You don’t have to.”

“Yes, I do.”

“I’ll pay for it.”

He snorts. “Like hell you will.”

We’re laughing and holding each other, and it just feels so damnright. There isn’t a single doubt in my mind about this man being the one I’m meant to be with, and the clarity feels like freedom.

If Tommy gets me a ring, I’ll have it engraved as well, and it’ll say what my heart screams whenever I look into Tommy’s eyes.
