Story: From the Ashes

I roll my eyes and head over to the table with Liz. “Hey, sorry. Protective assholes.”
“Well, don’t worry. You’re here now. So, heard a little rumor.” She smiles at me. “Someone was making out with someone in the hallway.”
My hand flies to my cheek. “No way! Who?” I say sarcastically.
“Oh, come on! Give me deets. What happ—” Liz stops mid-sentence and looks up behind me.
I turn to see my three bodyguards with their lunch in hand. “What are you guys doing?”
“Joining you for lunch. What does it look like?” Dax smiles as he pulls out a chair next to me and sits. Mason grabs one next to Liz, and Colton grabs the last chair next to Mason.
“What the hell?” My brows pull together, and I clench my fists. “You have your own table.” I turn and look to see that the Barbie Squad are now shooting me daggers. As well as the rest of the dining hall are staring in complete confusion as their kings are sitting with a commoner.
Awesomesauce.
Mason shrugs. “Yeah, but you didn’t want to sit with us.”
“Is this fifth grade? Did I circle no? Are you gonna pull my hair and tell me you hate me?”
“Oh, I’m definitely going to be pulling your hair,” Dax says in a throaty low voice.
“Oh my God.” Liz is flushing pink, and I’m not sure she’s all that comfortable.
“Sorry, Liz.” I turn to face her, my eyes meeting with Mason’s. He’s biting his lip and trying to keep from laughing. I can feel the heat rise up in my neck.
“Um, don’t worry. It’s nice to have company, I guess.” She eyes the guys who are now digging into their food.
“So, you going to the game?” Mason turns to Liz.
“Yeah, I was.” She smiles at him.
“Good. So is Phoenix, so you guys can go with Colton,” Mason says through a mouthful of his cheeseburger.
“O-Oh, yeah, sure. Okay.” Liz gives a tight smile. She looks at me, her eyebrows shooting straight up. I try to convey to her my apologies and that we will talk later.
An arm comes around me, pulling me and my chair closer. I feel Dax’s lips near my ear. “Is it bad that I want to take you back to my room and make you scream my name until you can’t think straight anymore? That I want to kiss and lick every inch of your body? That I want to slide into you, feel your warm, tight pussy wrapped around my cock?” he whispers.
My mouth drops open, and I let out a gasp. Colton chuckles like he knows what Daxon just said to me. He probably does. Mason just continues to eat with a grin on his face.
I’m in so much trouble with the kings.

Sitting on the bleachers with Colton on one side of me and Liz on the other, I’m honestly freezing my ass off. I still can’t believe that they convinced me to go to this game.
“Okay, so what, the game lasts like a half an hour?” I turn to Colton.
He laughs and places an arm around my shoulder. “Nope. Couple hours.”
My mouth drops open. “Seriously? You all sit on these metal fucking things in the cold for that long? I’m going to freeze to death. Why? Why would anyone sit here this long and watch this shit?”
“When you see them come out in their uniforms, you’ll understand.” Liz smiles.
It’s at that moment, the announcer calls on us to welcome the Darkwood Ravens, and everyone in the stands goes wild. This is gonna be a long fucking night.
The team runs out onto the field. Helmets in their hands, uniforms on, ready to go. And now I see why. Fuck, those uniforms do make their asses look spectacular.
“Okay so who’s who?” I ask Colt.
