I t shouldn’t be like this. I hadn’t had time to get her alone and tell her about the bond. I knew she could feel it because she looked a little confused when she came straight to my arms. I knew Enix had a crush, and I found that I honestly didn’t mind if she returned those feeling. Which was odd because Saki were notoriously territorial. Baxter clearly had eyes for Kuka, too, and I didn’t mind that much, either.

But Owen? I just really wanted to kill him. I didn’t really care if he wasn’t the one who killed her. It was because of him they didn’t catch who did it. And I wasn’t an idiot. She would have been with other males while I was in an entirely different galaxy. He didn’t make her feel safe enough with her past to stick around. She had been alone until we got here.

I couldn’t kill all her exes for not making her feel safe, but I could kill Owen.

I didn’t want to take my Zovea back a few weeks for her first experience time traveling. I wanted her to pick something in her planet’s history and see if Big Daddy would actually take us there. Big Daddy was temperamental on a good day.

We managed to sneak into the time machine without anyone seeing us. Baxter looked around.

“Hey, why do you call your time machine Big Daddy? Most ships here are named after women. How do you know Big Daddy isn’t Big Mommy? Because if you got lost and crashed into my pool because Big Daddy didn’t ask for directions, that’s one thing, but you crashed into my pool because you were supposed to.”

“He’s Big Daddy because that’s the name he gave us. The computer is based on the Enix programming with bits of black hole in the core. He’s sentient.”

“That’s completely acceptable. Nice to meet you Big Daddy.”

“Nice to meet you, Big Mommy.”

“Did I mention Big Daddy has a bit of a twisted sense of humor?” Kuka said, rolling his eyes. “You’re technically the mother of our whole society. There’s only one Big Mommy, and it’s you.”

“Is your time machine flirting with me?”

“Probably,” I moaned.

“I convinced him to not tell you I was stowing away with a little bit of hacking and a little bit letting him see me naked,” Omi said.

“Omi!” I growled.

“What? You made a sentient time machine, and he likes tits.”

“Big Mommy, you should press my buttons.”

Ugh. Kuka’s time machine creeped on my sister’s breasts and wanted my Zovea to press his buttons. That was so wrong.

“So, a total noob walking in and pressing random buttons could either be a really good thing or I could vaporize this entire planet.”

“I’ll show you which buttons to press. My time machine is also a bit of a brat and if I press them, he’s just not going to go.”

“Oh, my shit, you’re going to let me fly your time machine?”

Fucking Big Daddy. He didn’t always do what we wanted, but he always did what was needed. It was pretty obvious this wasn’t ideal for her first experience time traveling. There wasn’t much to do about that if we wanted to save her life.

So, Big Daddy flirted and pitched a tantrum so that her first experience time traveling was going to be driving the time machine herself.

I wasn’t mad about that, but I was still mad about my sister’s tits.

“Come here and I’ll show you.”

Baxter stepped up to the controls. They were all in our language. She wanted a chip like ours and technically with Omi here, she could get one. We just didn’t have time for minor surgery right now.

Kuka stepped up behind her and pressed himself against her back. I was surprised when a contented rumbled started in my chest instead of a feral snarl that he was touching my Zovea like that. I liked it. They looked good together. They fit nicely.

“The key is biometric. It’s keyed to me, but I’m guessing if you put your thumb right there, Big Daddy will accept you as a pilot. He won’t do that for anyone else.”

Damned right. Kuka made Big Daddy sentient as an extra security measure. If someone wanted to steal his time machine, Big Daddy would just refuse. If someone held a gun to Kuka’s head and tried to force him to take them somewhere, Big Daddy would not only not go anywhere, he’d get rid of the interlopers. He'd accept Baxter, though. I just knew it.

Baxter set her finger on the key and let Big Daddy scan her.

“Big Mommy accepted. Press my buttons.”

Ew.

“So, tell him where you want to go and try to be specific. He’ll need details about Owen to be able to access information and locate him.”

She didn’t even give any salacious details about Owen, and I still wanted to kill him.
