Gabriel and Mathis smiled at their friends. “Did you miss us?”

“I’m sorry, who are you?” Sean said.

“Who are any of us?” Mathis replied quickly.

“Gah, don’t start him down that path,” Ivan complained.

Mathis laughed and looked around at the secret office and the piles of paperwork. “That’s a lot to go through.”

“It is,” Ivan agreed. “That’s why we need Kay’s computer. It wouldn’t hurt to have Giles’ computer, as well.”

“I can get them. Hopefully they’ll be in their rooms and not in the Goodsir’s house,” Gabe said.

“We can hope. I mean, we must be due some luck about now,” Neill replied.

“Mathis and I will go and search Kay and the lemmings rooms and see what electronics we can find,” Gabe said.

“We have their mobiles. Seth and Cairo collected them before they were locked up,” Mathis said.

“Good. I can go through them, as well,” Ivan commented distractedly as he read the information off the screen.

“Did you find something?” Neill asked him.

“I’m not sure… more initials. It talks about a meeting they all had. Well, this is helpful; they even had an agenda for the meeting sent to all of them. The meeting was conducted by teleconference so certain people could remain anonymous.”

“What initials?” Kayden asks.

“KW, QCW, GG, JC, DD, JT, SS, LB, RA, AT,” Ivan read.

“So, we have Kay and his father, Giles, Alun, Robert, Leonard, The lemmings, and Jake Conway,” Gabe said.

“So, one of them has to be the leader. I’m going with Daddy Cameron-Web,” Sean commented.

“We’ll get the other computers and gadgets and find out,” Mathis said, turning to look at Gabe. “Ready, little witch?”

Gabe nodded. “Come on, then. Let’s get this over with.”

“That’s the spirit,” Kayden said with a laugh. “Want me or Sean to come with you?”

“You go, I went and got refreshments,” Sean said to him.

Gabe laughed. “Yep, come on Kayden. You can carry everything we find.”

“I think I’ll stay here, thanks,” Kayden said with a grimace.

“Too late,” everyone said.

Kayden shook his head and stood up, laughing. “Remind me why we’re friends again?”

“Because I’m just so awesome,” Gabe deadpanned before looking at Kayden and burst out laughing along with the others.

“That you are, mate of mine,” Mathis said, still laughing and taking his hand. “I’m glad you finally realised it.”

“This is the last room. It’s Jake Conway’s room,” Gabe said and knocked loudly on the door. “Jake, it’s Gabriel. Open up.”

“I can’t hear any heartbeats from inside the room,” Mathis told them.

“Then I’m going in,” Gabe said. He put his hand on the door to see if the room had been protected. “Now I know who put the message in Hunter”s house and tried to get into Leonard’s room.”

“We can check his room and then look for him,” Kayden said.

“We can,” Gabe agreed and, muttering a spell, pulled down Jake”s protection wards, then using his magic, opened the door. “Let me check for bombs first.” And with that, Gabe sent his magic into the room.

Gabe sighed. “So, most of the room has bombs spread around it. Let me disable them first, then we can go in.” He paused. “There, all done now.” He looked at Mathis and Kayden. “You both might want to stay here while I go in.”

Mathis snorted. “Sure, I’ll get right on that.” And with that, Mathis walked into the bedroom, Kayden following close behind.

Gabe shook his head and walked in after them.

“Well, this is a bust. It looks like Jake packed up and left,” Kayden said while looking around.

He was right. The room was empty of personal effects; the doors to his wardrobe stood open showing nothing inside.

Mathis walked to a large chest of draws and pulled open each draw, but they were all empty, as well.

“His details should be in the office filing system,” Gabe said. “We can find him but not today.”

“Let’s seal this room anyway and get back to the others. Ivan can go through all these,” Kayden said, holding up all the devices he was carrying. They had found laptops and tablets in all the other rooms. Why they were left behind was anyone’s guess.

“Yep, let’s do that,” Gabe agreed and followed them out of the room, with Gabe closing and sealing it behind them.

They then walked back to Leonard’s room to join the others.

“I come bearing gifts,” Kayden announced as he walked into the secret room, handing everything to Ivan.

“Nice, thanks. I should be able to hack these and get more information.”

“Also, Jake Conway has packed up and left,” Gabe told them.

“We should be able to find his details in the office,” Sean said.

“Yeah, we thought of that. Mathis and I have to get back to the pack, but we can return and look later, or…” He paused and walked over to the bedroom door, placing his hand in it and muttering a spell.

The others walked out and watched him.

“There,” Gabe said with a smile.

“What did you do, little witch?”

“I made it so Kayden and Sean can get into all the rooms I’ve sealed, so if I’m not around, you two can go into rooms and look for whatever is needed. When you’re working in a room, keep the main door closed so no one else can walk in.”

“Thanks, Gabe,” Sean said.

“Gabe, can you send me back to the coven house so I can start looking through all these?” Ivan asked.

“I can do that,” Gabe replied, swirling his hand and opening a portal.

Ivan gathered everything he needed. “Thanks. I’ll let you know what I find. Good luck with the rescue, and if you need my help, just yell.”

“Will do,” Mathis said. “Can you also start looking through the Russian’s computer? If you need help, ask Gavin.”

Gabe snorted. “Pretty sure Gavin’s busy with Hunter at the moment.”

“I do not need to know that. Come on, little witch, we need to go, as well.”

“Laters,” Ivan said as he walked through the portal.

Once he was through, Gabe closed it and opened another to the pack house. “We’ll catch up with you guys later,” Gabe said.

Sean and Kayden hugged both Gabe and Mathis.

“Be safe, both of you, and good luck,” Sean said.

“Thanks,” Mathis said, and with that, he and Gabe returned to the pack house.
