Hunter and Gavin enjoyed their floor picnic. Hunter was amazed how much he could understand from Gavin’s signing, Gavin only needing to write things down occasionally. Gavin had been constantly smiling since he woke up, and Hunter loved that look on him, the way his eyes sparkled with happiness, a far cry from the look in them when Hunter had first arrived.

Seeing Gavin’s happiness, Hunter leant forward and kissed him. He moved closer and put his hand around Gavin’s neck, and as they kissed, Hunter laid Gavin down. He laid over Gavin, making sure to keep most of his weight off his stunning vampire.

He managed to pull his lips away and started kissing around Gavin’s neck. He lifted his eyes to look at Gavin’s face and saw pleasure covering his features and his eyes alight with passion. Hunter kissed Gavin on the lips again before pulling back. “Shall we move to the bed?”

Gavin smiled and nodded, the smile slipping slightly, and he started signing.

Hunter looked confused for a moment before he asked, “When we make love, you want to mate with me?”

Gavin nodded and signed again.

“You want to chomp on my shoulder and drink some of my blood?”

Gavin nodded, looking concerned.

Hunter smiled. “Will I become a vampire? Have increased strength? Super speed? I won’t have to sleep in a coffin, will I?” he asked, suddenly horrified.

Gavin burst into silent laughter at the look of horror on Hunter”s face.

A moment later, Hunter joined in, falling next to Gavin as they both tried to pull themselves together.

Hunter turned on his side and raised his hand, laying it on Gavin’s cheek.

Gavin moved so he was now lying on his side, looking at Hunter. He loved the look in Hunter”s green eyes, especially as they were now filled with happiness.

“I know I won’t be sleeping in a coffin as you have a lovely looking bed in here. But what about turning into a vampire and all the other perks?”

Gavin shook his head.

“What, nothing?”

Gavin shook his head again, silently laughing.

“I would formally like to lodge a protest,” Hunter said, smiling at him.

Gavin signed.

“I’ll talk to Dave. I bet he’s feeling left out on the superpowers front as well.”

Gavin nodded and leant forward, kissing Hunter. He sighed. He could kiss Hunter forever and not have enough.

Hunter pulled back and gave him a gentle smile. “Yes, you can mate with me, but Gavin, should we not wait until this witch killer who is after me has been caught?”

The smile fell off Gavin”s face, and he signed quickly.

“Sweetheart, you need to slow down. I’m missing most of what you’re saying,” Hunter said, grabbing Gavin’s hands. “But I’m guessing you’re saying that you’ll mate with me now, that you’re a fierce vampire and will protect me, plus, so will everyone here.”

Gavin nodded and pulled his hands free and signed.

“Thank you for your promise, and I love you, as well.”

Gavin smiled wide and pounced on Hunter, raining kisses over his face.

Hunter laughed, and with superhuman effort, rolled them before pulling away and standing up, pulling Gavin up with him and moving them to the bed. “Gonna make love to you now, Gavin,” Hunter told him gently. “If you don’t want this now, we can wait.”

Gavin rolled his eyes and Hunter laughed before kissing Gavin and starting to strip him out of his clothes.
