I lift up on tiptoes and grip the front of his T-shirt. He takes the hint, dipping his head and kissing me like there's nobody else around.
When he pulls back I stare up at him with dazed eyes and smile. “Yeah, I’m ready.”
He takes my hand and leads me toward the clubhouse. I spot Al and nod to him. He winks, knowing what I want, and disappears.
I squint when we step inside, my eyes needing a second to adjust to the light. I stumble when I catch sight of everyone. I was expecting Havoc and Nevaeh, not half the mother chapter.
“Um...hi?”
Hannibal releases my hand so he can slide it around my shoulder. Hearing a familiar cry, I turn to see Gunther walking in with Evan.
“Little man is hungry, and I don’t have boobs.” He thrusts him into my arms.
I look down at my boy and stroke my fingers over his soft head. “Hey, baby. I wondered who’d stolen you this time.”
“Stolen is such a strong word. I prefer the term borrowed,” Gunther complains as I deftly unbutton the top few buttons of my top before unhooking the cup of my maternity bra andfreeing my boob. It takes Evan a second to latch on, and when he does, I remember I have an audience.
I try to turn away from them so they can’t see anything, but Hannibal puts a stop to that. “They have a problem with you feeding my son, they can all fuck off.”
“Trust me, I have no problem watching Lola feed her son,” a voice calls out.
Hannibal growls. “Don’t make me kill you, Toot.”
“Still as touchy as ever, I see.” Toot walks forward to give Hannibal a one-armed bro hug, but Hannibal leaves him hanging. “So rude.” He sighs before turning to me. “I’m not sure if you remember me or not. I’m Toot.” He holds his hand for me to shake, but I kinda have mine full.
“My bad. Here, let me hold your boob for you,” he jokes.
Hannibal launches himself at Toot, who sidesteps him at the last minute.
Toot is unceremoniously yanked back by Havoc. “Can’t you behave yourself for five fucking minutes?”
“Sorry, Dad.”
“Fucking save me from idiots,” Havoc mutters before shoving Toot away from Hannibal, who still looks set on murdering him.
“Hannibal, Lola.” Havoc greets us both as Nevaeh sidles up beside him.
“Hi guys.” She offers a genuine smile.
I feel a nudge at my elbow and look over to see Millie standing next to me in the same protective stance her father usually adopts. God, I love this kid.
“Havoc, Nevaeh, and everyone watching creepily from across the room, this is Millie. Our daughter.”
Millie jolts at my words, making me frown until I realize I saidourdaughter and not Hannibal’s.
“Crap, I’m sorry Millie. I didn’t mean to?—”
“No, it’s okay. I like it. I think my mom would've too. She’d like you for me.”
“Do not make me cry. I’m not wearing waterproof mascara,” I grumble, making her grin.
“Well, hell,” Toot begins, his eyes on Millie.
I glare at him and take a step forward. “Do not look at her with your slimy eyes. She’s fourteen and if you so much as breathe on her, I’ll rip out your lungs and give them to Hannibal to sauté.”
Toot’s mouth drops open in shock.
The guys behind me chuckle, but not half as much as Hannibal does.
