CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

Seraphina

A ndras and Levi guided us out to the courtyard, and I sucked in gulps of the wintry air.

The sky was cloudy and smelled like snow.

The full moon shone down on us between the clouds.

Two figures moved out of the shadows, and I turned quickly, needing an outlet for my rage.

Andras grabbed my arms before I could attack.

“ Sois douce, belle femme ,” he whispered, his voice deep and soothing. “It’s only Morax And Xavier.”

Xavier stepped out of the darkness with a confident swagger and that pretty smile I remembered from my visit to the firehouse. He winked at me, and because I enjoyed teasing my Princes, I winked back.

Levi growled. He grabbed my face and stepped in front of me, blocking Xavier’s view of me. “Do you need to be reminded whose cum is leaking out of your sweet cunt, diabla ?”

I licked my lips, and Levi pushed his thumb inside my mouth, forcing it open. Andras stepped in closer and grabbed the base of my hair tightly, turning my head his way while Levi pressed his thumb down on my tongue.

Andras spit in my mouth, and my pussy throbbed. “Ours, sweetheart. You belong to us. If you wink at Xavier again, I’ll be forced to let Levi pluck his eyes out. And then his little gang will come after us. Let’s not start a war when we already have one up our asses, hmm?”

When I said nothing, the hot bastard smirked at me. “Good girl. Now swallow.”

Levi released my bottom lip, and I swallowed dramatically. My Princes grinned, satisfaction and dark lust swirling in their gazes. We turned together as the second figure emerged from the shadows.

As soon as she saw Morax, Kaela ran to him, throwing her body into his arms. The daemon wrapped her up with a predatory growl. His horns appeared, and his eyes glowed a golden yellow as he searched her face.

“Why do you cry, mae domina ?” Morax murmured, brushing her cheek with his large clawed hand. The daemon was massive, his presence dwarfing my five-foot-six sister.

My sister buried her head against his neck, and I stepped toward them with Andras at my side.

“They cannot speak,” Andras responded. “The sparkling necklaces are shock collars.”

Morax snarled, and lesser men would piss themselves at the fierceness of that sound. “I’ll rip it off.”

“No,” Andras interrupted. “My father will know. Just a few moments and we will have the keys.”

Morax nodded, his face softening as he stared into my sister’s eyes. “It will be over soon.”

The words left his lips, and the doors to the ballroom opened. We turned collectively, and relief washed through me at the sight of Ty and Dev pouring out onto the patio. As soon as they were away from prying eyes, Ty’s drunken stumble disappeared and his feral eyes found me in the darkness.

He stalked toward me, picking me up and crushing his lips to mine. I melted into his arms, needing his strength.

Dev followed closely behind him. “Turn her around, Ty. Let’s get this shit off.”

Ty gripped my hips and turned us around. There was very little light out here, the cloudy skies blocking out the moonlight. Morax walked toward us with my sister at his side. He lifted his free hand, and a glowing orb of fire appeared.

My eyes widened. That’s fucking cool. Can all daemons do that? Can we learn to do that? I needed this collar off immediately. Not being able to speak was driving me nuts.

Morax held the fire aloft, and Dev slipped the keys out of his sleeve. He stood behind me, brushing his hand down my back and making me shiver.

“Say please,” Dev whispered, and I could hear the smile in his playful tone.

I turned my head and winked at him. This Dev, the one who was sweet and spicy, he was my favorite.

I pulled my hair off my neck and gave him access to the stupid collar.

He quickly pressed the magnetic key to the engraving on the back.

As soon as I felt the lock release, I tore the thing off and snarled.

“Fucking hell that was annoying,” I practically shouted. “I’m putting one of those things on Laszlo the next fucking chance I get.”

Ty chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waist. “I missed your filthy mouth.”

He leaned in for a kiss, and I bit down on his lip. Ty snarled at me, and I smiled, licking away the hurt. I broke away long enough to see Dev unlock the collar from my sister’s neck. She whispered her thanks to him before turning back to her daemon mate.

“I’m surprised there aren’t more guards out here,” Michaela cocked her head, looking around the massive patio that lead to the expansive gardens beyond.

Morax huffed. “There were. Some are dead. Some are unconscious and wishing they were dead. Xavier helped me dispatch them. He’s quite efficient for a human.”

Xavier smiled, clearly pleased to be complimented by the daemon. “I’m more than happy to join the fray if it involves the destruction of The Obscuritas. They’re bad for business.”

Michaela smirked. “Good riddance.”

I grinned at her with pride. “Wow, little sister. I didn’t know you were so villainous.”

She crossed her arms and shrugged. “They all deserve it. For what they did to our mother and Lailah. For what they’re doing to our father. And for what they did to us.”

I walked toward her and pulled her into a hug. I didn’t know why. I wasn’t overly affectionate when it came to serious feelings. But in that moment, I needed to hug my sister. Her slim arms wrapped around me, and she squeezed tight.

“For all of them,” I whispered into her ear. “And for us.”

“Little vixen…” Ty purred, and the devil in his voice made me shiver.

I let my sister go, and Morax immediately moved in to steal her attention away as I stalked over to my monster man.

“Yes?”

Ty’s hand snapped out, and his fingers wrapped around my throat. He pulled me in close. “Give us a song, pet. Now that you’ve got your voice back, why don’t you use it to upset the masses?”

Levi laughed, coming up beside Ty. His navy eyes were a mix of lust and rage. “Yes, diabla . Show them who the fuck they’re messing with.”

Ty’s grip tightened around my throat, and I moaned. Dev and Andras stepped up behind me, closing in. I was surrounded by my Princes. My thighs clenched, and I wanted nothing more than to get this orgy started right here.

Morax let out a dark laugh. “ Mae domina , perhaps we should leave before your sister and her men start fucking right here on the patio.”

“Ew. Sara, at least wait until I’m not here to watch,” Michaela whined.

I let out a laugh, as much of a laugh as I could with Ty’s fingers squeezing my throat.

He leaned in. “Soon, pet.”

I nodded, completely in agreement.

“I have something for you both.” Morax interrupted again, and this time I pulled away from Ty to turn to the daemon.

My Princes stayed close. Morax pulled out two small boxes, offering one to me and one to my sister.

“I almost forgot about these,” Michaela whispered, tracing the M on her velvet jewelry box.

I traced the S on mine before slowly opening the box. Inside was a delicate chain necklace with a beautiful dark stone attached. I picked it up, and the stone pulsed. I felt the power of it down to my toes. It was beautiful, and I couldn’t take my eyes off of it.

Andras peered over my shoulder at the necklace and raised an eyebrow. “What is it? I can feel…something.”

“Me too.” Dev was equally mesmerized.

“The stone you hold is called tenebrite,” Morax responded, his voice low and reverent. “It carries the essence of a daemon. I am not sure who, though.”

“And mine is called luxenite. It possesses the soul of a lumen.” Michaela held up her necklace, and the opalescent stone twinkled in the moonlight.

Morax nodded at her words. “A daemon or lumen can choose to sacrifice their place among the stars in order to give their power to the stone. It can only be used once. And depending on how powerful the creature was, the power unleashed could be devastating.”

“So, can we just drop the little stone into the ballroom and wipe all those fuckers out now?” I huffed, because hell yeah to that plan.

Morax shook his head, though, and I pouted. “No. The ritual needs to happen. But I have a feeling whatever comes after, we may need the power of at least one of those stones.”

I nodded, closing the powerful trinket in my fist.

“One more thing.” Morax produced a vial and presented it to us. “Each of you must drink a single drop of this potion.”

“Unlikely,” Andras scoffed. “What is it?”

Morax growled in irritation. “The witch didn’t say, only that you’d need it. I trust her.”

Drinking mysterious potions, as a rule, was a no-no.

But this daemon proved himself, and I was going to trust him.

Before Andras could protest, I took the vial and dripped a single drop onto my tongue.

Nothing cool happened. What a letdown. The princes followed my actions, each taking a drop from the vial.

When it was done, I turned my eyes to Morax. “Take Michaela and get out of here. She doesn’t need to be here for this.”

Morax turned to my sister, his expression torn. “I should stay, for my brother.”

Michaela shook her head and glared at me. “I am not leaving you. Or our father.”

I ignored her and forced Morax to hear me. “If you say your brother is important and this has to be done, so be it. I will do the fucking ritual, and we will be here to help him do whatever needs to be done. But take her. Now.”

“Time is running out, party people,” Levi murmured. “Guards headed this way.”

We’d been out here too long. The Kings had probably noticed. I stared at the daemon, begging him to take my sister away from this. If it went to hell, I didn’t want her here. I honestly wasn’t sure I could save our father. Morax gave a single nod.

Michaela’s eyes widened, catching the small movement. She backed away in anger.

His eyes turned golden, and he sighed. “We will meet you at Vespertine Hall.”

“No, Sara. Morax. Don’t do this—”

My sister’s words were cut off when Morax snatched her waist and leapt into the sky.

His wings snapped out, and in a matter of seconds, they were gone.

My shoulders slumped. Strong hands wrapped around my waist and pawed at my flesh.

The mix of gentle and rough touches from my Princes fed my dark soul.

“We will be here, no matter what comes next.” Andras spoke first, his voice strong and sure.

“I know.” I sighed, eyeing each of them and taking strength from their confidence. “I just wanted her to be somewhere safe, in case it doesn’t work out.”

Levi’s fingers gripped my chip, pinching hard and making me cry out. “Don’t say that. We are all walking away from this.”

I took the pain he offered, and the assurances. As long as I had them with me, I wouldn’t be afraid. But my feelings were so wrapped up in them now, and I didn’t want to die; didn’t want them to die. And I would do whatever it took to keep them alive.

“If you die, we die, pet,” Ty growled, sensing my thoughts somehow. “I told you once before. There is only us. All or none.”

Dev nodded in agreement. “Only us.”

My heart grew two sizes like I was the fucking Grinch at Dev finally accepting this crazy thing we had together.

“Alright. Only us,” I conceded.

Ty grinned, and the devil was in his gaze. “Now give us a song, little vixen. And make the Kings wish they were dead.”
