Then another thought hits me which has me frowning even more.
Is Genivieve still safe?
Panic hits me at that.
Is Genivieve still alive?
Judging by how she spoke about Grace, I honestly don’t see her wanting to care for another newborn baby. Especially one that isn’t Aiden’s baby.
Opening the door, I look around the main room and head towards Python and Smoke. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Anthony frown from his spot at the bar when he sees me. He stands and heads towards me.
Sitting down with Python, I wait till Anthony takes his seat and I lean forward. “I was wondering if you could look into something. It’s about Genivieve. Can you find her whereabouts? Also, is there a way to find out what Kelly put on her birth certificate?”
Understanding instantly dawns in their eyes.
“We’ll try to hack into their security to find out. It shouldn’t be too hard,” Smoke replies.
“As for the birth certificate, that will be a piece of cake to figure out,” Python says and I nod.
“Thank you.”
They both dip their chins, but they’re already tapping away at their keyboards. Anthony grasps my hand and leads me over tothe couches. I bite my nail as we nervously wait to hear what Doc, Python, and Smoke find out.
Half an hour later, I stare down at the report Doc hands me about my tests. At first glance, I don’t know what to make of it so I read it again. My palms sweat as I look at the normal ranges of several hormones, various components of my blood, and various minerals.
“Other than what’s on that report, so far, we can find nothing else. It looks like what they gave you, really was just a fertility drug.”
Doc winks at me as I fold the report and tuck it into the inner pocket of my cut.
Python and Smoke approach us, both of them carrying their laptops. Doc lightly rasps his knuckles on the table before leaving. Python and Smoke take a seat.
“The birth certificate shows Kelly and Aiden as the parents,” Smoke starts, but then they both share hesitant looks.
“What?”
Instead of answering me, Python turns his laptop towards me and bile rises in my throat at what is on his screen.
What the fuck?
Taking his laptop from him, I flip through all the pictures, not believing what I’m seeing. Then I reread the post they found. Smoke then hands me a printout of the posting.
Standing, I make a beeline down the hallway and from the sounds of scraping chairs against the hardwood, the rest of theguys are following. Anthony catches up to me and not even his hand on the small of my back calms me like usual.
“Darlin’?” he asks cautiously.
I fill him in as we make our way to the cellar.
I am fuckinglivid.
Reaching the door to the interrogation room, Anthony scans his hand and puts in his password. As soon as the door unlocks, I open it and step into the room. I take off my cut and ring, and as I put on my gloves, I look around the room. Zac, Richard, Kelly, Crystal, and the four other men that were in the warehouse are all strung up from their wrists. Their legs are spread and their ankles are shackled to the eyebolts secured in the floor. Zac is across from Darren who is still strapped to the table. Beside Zac is Crystal, then Kelly, and one of Richard’s men. On the other side, next to Darren is Richard, and then the three remaining men of Richard’s. I have no idea what their names are but I’m sure Python either knows or is close to finding that out already.
They’ve all been stripped down to their underclothes and I don’t try to hide my approval of the fact that they’re all soaking wet. They’re shivering violently in the chilly room. Perfect payback for making me freeze while my wrists and ankles were chained to that bed.
I march right up to Kelly and land a hard punch to her jaw. Her head whips to the side as she cries out in pain. Well, she tries to cry out, but they are muffled since the duct tape is still over her mouth. Her eyes are dazed when she’s able to focus back on me.
Back tracking, I stop by the table Darren is still strapped to. He’s glaring daggers at me, but wisely keeps his mouth shut. Wordlessly, I hold the report so Darren can read it and I know the exact moment he realizes what he’s reading. His face turns red and he turns his glare on Kelly.
“Why?!” he yells. If looks could kill, Kelly would be dead right now.
