“Then the next day, he asked me to be his Old Lady. Though, between our seamstress being out for her daughter giving birth to her first grandbaby, I didn’t get my cut until December 4th.”
Levi’s lip curls. “Fucking Star,” she hisses under her breath.
“No…” Mary drawls out as her gaze ping pongs between me and Levi.
“Yup,” I reply, popping the ‘p’.
Glancing over at Levi, I lift an eyebrow in question and she nods, letting me know it’s okay to talk about it.
“Apparently the bitch had stolen Mama Astrid’s keys the night you were kidnapped, Mae. She made copies of Reaper’s key, as well as many other keys, before returning them. Reaper had just gotten back from celebrating Thanksgiving with your guys’ club and helping move stuff out of Mary’s old house. Somewhere between when Reaper got back and I arrived at the clubhouse, Star snuck into Reaper’s room and was lying on his bed, stark naked. Got everything out of her for how she got the keys as well as other shit she had done, before we full out banned her ass.”
Mary, Nikki, Sadie, and Sasha’s jaws drop at the full-out ban comment. Levi and Mae already knew all the details.
“Fucking hell,” Sasha mutters as she runs a hand through her hair. “What the fuck else did she do to get fully banned?” Then she freezes and her eyes widen. “I mean, if it’s allowed for you to say, that is.”
I give her a sad smile. “On top of interfering with our relationship, she drugged Reaper’s drink. Thankfully, didn’t drink any of it after she spiked it. As for the keys she copied, they were to Reaper’s room, Devil’s room, Python’s room, Church, Reaper’s office as well as all his separate office keys like for his desk and cupboards. On top ofallof that, she stole three thousand dollars from the Christmas drive we do for the kids. We were able to recover all but five hundred of it when the guys escorted her to her apartment to oversee her cleaning out hershit. We gave her five hours to pack as much as she could into her car or a friend’s car before the rest would be donated.”
Levi’s lips twitch and I narrow my eyes at her.
“Though, you forgot the part where you dragged her ass down the stairs by her hair,” she says, grinning. “Fuck, I watched that bit on repeat a few times.”
I chuckle along with the others at that. When we quiet down, Levi tilts her head at me and then glances back at the others.
“Also, part of that ban is that Star can never live in a town where we have a club ever again. All the President’s got pictures of her as well as video proof of what she’d done. If she ever comes near one of our clubs again, she’ll regret it more than words can say,” Levi says.
Our gazes lock and we both nod in unison. If that bitch ever shows her face again, I will be making her pay for what she’d done.
Chapter 51
Reaper
Thenextmorningafterbreakfast, I catch Thor’s eye and tilt my head toward his office. He gives me a chin lift and after we both get a drink refill, we walk into his office, closing the door behind us.
“I take it things have turned a bit?”
I scowl. “You can say that again.” I take a pull from my drink and sigh. Loki gave me the okay to share information with Thor, but it still feels a bit invasive. “You know about Loki’s family?”
His lips pull to the side a bit as he thinks. “A little. That they’re from New Orleans and that they have sort of ability that allows them to occasionally see visions.”
“It’s more than that, but yeah. All the women in his family have that ability to varying degrees. They also deal in Voodoo, the good kind, that focuses more on healing and protective charms and things like that. Occasionally, the first-born son also inherits those abilities.”
Thor’s eyes narrow and he leans forward, his chair squeaking as his weight shifts. “Is that how Loki knew the attack was coming about eight years ago?”
I nod. “Yeah. At the time, I knew about what you did about his family. I had my doubts, but after that attack, I always believed him if he told me we needed to do something or prepare. So far, it’s happened three times since that night, not counting what happened after Lark’s accident.”
Thor frowns. “What do you mean? What did he see?”
“That we’re probably dealing with two people that are after Lark. He couldn’t see anything that would identify them, but he got the impression that they were going to strike again soon. However, he’s not sure how soon ‘soon’ is. He also saw a different vision about Miracle. That she’s in danger. He doesn’t know how soon that is either, but warned that both of them should always be armed and take some self-defense classes.”
“Fucking hell,” he curses as he runs a hand through his hair. “Is that why you brought Miracle today?”
I shake my head but then pause. “That’s part of it, but Lil’ Bit really did reach out to me and asked me to invite her. She figured Lark was going to be a nervous wreck and that Mama Astrid would probably be more inclined to chat with Elvira while we’re here. She didn’t want Lark to feel like they were ganging up on her or something so having her best friend nearby might help.” I smile and shake my head. “Just like Lil’ Bit to think about something like that.”
Taking another swig, I rub the back of my neck and grimace. “That isn’t all either.”
I tell him about Zac and his stepsister, and that we think Zac is one of the men after Lark.
Thor’s lip curls. “Fucking bitch wasn’t satisfied with just causing problems when she was alive—now she’s causing them from the grave.”
