My poor heart.
Every beat is starting to sound like his name.
“You’re feeding into my possessiveness for you, love. It’s already at a scarily high degree.”
“Good.” His fingers curl around my throat, tugging me closer to his tempting lips. “Because it runs both ways.”
His cock fully hard again, he makes love to me.

“Does Sonya know we’re back?” I ask Kian as I serve him a piping hot dosa. “She usually comes today around this time.”
“Are you friends with our housekeeper?”
Giddiness spreads through me when he saysours. It happens every time he utters it casually. “I like to think so. She’s sweet.”
“You find everyone sweet, Rainbow.”
“I thought you were an ass when I finally met you.”
His hand pauses in midair. Tilting his head, he sighs. “Am I ever going to be forgiven for that?”
“You’re already forgiven, but it doesn’t mean I can’t tease you from time to time.”
“Brat.”
Poking my tongue at him, I twirl around and skip to the kitchen. Whipping a dosa for myself in under a minute, I join him at the dining table. Scooping four spoons of coconut chutney into the small bowl, I take a bite and hum in satisfaction.
Kian’s thumb swipes across the corner of my lips before he sucks it into his mouth. “You had some there.”
My cheeks pinkening, I focus on my plate. Flirty and playful Kian is my favorite.
“Are you nervous about today?” he asks gently. “We’ll be making our first public appearance as a couple. I don’t want you to get overwhelmed by the media. There’s a chance they’ll be perched outside the building.”
I swallow the bite I was chewing before answering. “I can handle it. I went through it after my engagement with Nathan was announced.”
Finished with his breakfast, he wipes his hands and mouth with a napkin before twisting my way. Rubbing a soothing hand up my thigh, he murmurs, “They’ll try to get a rise out of you. You cannot take any of their words to heart. I’m taking every precaution to keep them away from you. But I want you to be prepared.”
“I’ll stay strong. I know they’ll try to tarnish our relationship, most likely say we had an affair. But I do not care because I know the truth. I only care about the opinion of the people who matter to me.”
The tension dissipates from his broad shoulders. “Never doubted your strength, Rainbow. I hate that you’re put in this position.”
“It’s neither of our faults.”
“At the office, if any of my employees treats you with anything less than respect, directly or indirectly, you will come straight to me and give me their names.”
“Kian…”
His expression turns stern and commanding. “I’m serious. Promise me you will inform me.”
“I promise, love.”
“That’s my girl.”
I eat the rest of my breakfast. Afterward, Kian carries our dishes to the kitchen and puts them in the sink. I stand, walking toward the bathroom to freshen and also grab my purse from the bedroom when my phone rings.
“Would you get that, Kian?” I ask over my shoulder.
