Page 143 of His Retribution
This is going to be epically terrible, I can feel it.
"You can try, my queen, try your hardest but without the guidance of Tolan and Ellida I'm afraid your attempts will be in vain."
"One more chance. Give me your name or I shall take it from you, then I will have my answers."
Maybe Joyce leans closer to my light, face between the bars. "Show me what you got, Cora. I deserve it all."
Then she does.
A gust of wind picks up out of nowhere, the air becomes electrically charged, swirls and whooshes around us. My brothers step beside me, the five of us on the defense, and when we exchange a look, I notice everyone's hair is standing on end.
My eyes snap to my mate, my mate who is now glowing much like she does when we make love but it is a darker blue, a more menacing and cold blue.
"Give me your name, demon, or I shall take it from you."
Worry creeps into Maybe Joyce's stare but it doesn't falter, stays steadfast in resistance to her request.
"You will give me your name and with it, power over you." Cora throws her head back, the blue light engulfs the room, the electric beams of her eyes now pointed at the ceiling for a beat before she lifts her hands and repeats, "You will give me your name and with it, power over you." Then her head snaps forward in unison with her hands and a blast of ice cold light explodes into the room, temporarily blinding us, the force sending my brothers and I against the wall. "Your name, demon! Give me your name!"
"Ueltorrhzan!" rings out in a feral, demonic, warped shriek and as soon as it's said, the light surges once more then extinguishes.
And now I'm on the floor again.
My eyes struggle to readjust, but when they do and I see my beautiful mate standing in the center of the room, chest heaving, eyes fixed on the cell in front of her, I breathe a sigh of relief.
"Cora… angel, are you alright?"
She turns toward me and nods. "I'm fine." Then she grins. "And I'm really fucking horny."
I just blink.
Funny enough, I am too.
Would you look at that?
But there is other business to attend to at the moment that does not involve being balls deep inside my mate. That will come later.
Ha.
Come.
"We need to get Joyce out of here." Cora sighs. "And you're going to have to work some of that magic you refuse to use, lovey, because she can't have any memories of this."
I slowly get to my feet and follow her line of sight, my gaze landing on the cell that now contains two bodies, both limp and turned away from us. One is clearly still Joyce, though it is possible one of her butt implants exploded when my love did and she looks a little worse for wear.
The other though, that one has me a tad baffled.
It is definitely male, a very large male I'd put close to my height but not quite as wide. White blonde hair sits disheveled into what Posey would probably refer to as some sort of pompadour or some shit, but the fade—see, I pay attention to detail—gives way to tattoos or markings on the back of the skull that run down the neck and back of a lean muscled body. A body that is very much without clothing and covered in the same sort of markings over every inch of the shimmery gold of his skin.
He is very still, his breaths shallow and I have to wonder if he is experiencing the pain my angel referenced.
It's hard to fathom her causing anyone pain, but considering he is very clearly demon then there is no need for concern.
"You think you can do that for me, lovey?"
I pull my eyes away from the creature I've only ever heard about and look at my angel. "What?"
She giggles and shakes her head. "Can you wipe this stuff from Joyce's memory? Maybe totally erase anything that pertains to you or them." Cora nods toward my brothers who are just now pulling themselves upright. "Or him?" She nods toward the demon.
