Chapter Eight
Shane
T he Five Falls chapter is fucking wired weird. Leo had us ride for two days so JP can take his own life on account his Parkinson’s is progressing rapidly, and he doesn’t want to be a burden to his old lady or the club.
I wouldn’t want to go out to a disease that strips away everything about me, but I don’t know if I’d have the balls to end it.
“When I first patched into the club, shit looked a lot different. Tonight I look out and see how far we’ve come.
I have no fuckin’ idea what waits for me on the other side, but I know whoever takes my place and under Leo Jackson, this club will continue to live beyond us all. This patch is going to be our legacy.”
His old lady and VP cling to his side as his last piece of energy slowly drains from him.
A gold gun gleams on his blanketed lap. At this point I don’t know if he’s going to find the energy to hold it up and pull the trigger.
His old lady kneels before him and lays her head on his lap.
I glance around and I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s a little concerned about what’s about to go down.
He stares down at his old lady and smiles fondly. “I love ya, baby. Never forget that.”
She wails as, with trembling hands, he lifts the gun and presses it against his temple.
“Fuck me, he’s gonna do it right here,” Myles chokes out beside me.
The shot rings out and echoes around the bar. I’m momentarily stunned. I couldn’t move or speak if I tried. Not until his old lady cries out and his VP, Ashton, chokes on a sob.
I turn my back and come face to face with a striking blonde with a cracking rack and an enticing smile.
“Hi,” she murmurs.
I tip my chin. I slip my arm around her and head toward the bar. I can’t be seeing his blood and brains splattered over the place.
“What’s ya name, darlin’?”
“Annie.”
“I’m Shane.”
“I know who you are.”
Taking a closer look, she’s not like the other women. She has a touch of class about her, but her smile is wicked. A combination I enjoy.
“What the Hell are ya doing hanging around a biker club?”
“I know JP’s old lady, heard about what his plan was and came over.”
I go to glance over my shoulder but still, I don’t want to see that shit and keep my eyes on my new friend Annie.
“Shouldn’t you be over there with her, consoling her?”
Keeping my eyes on hers, she looks across the bar and then shakes her head.
“She’s got enough people around her. I’m more interested in you.”
I grin. “Lucky me.”
I’m about to go find us a room when brothers rise, and a quietness falls over the bar.
Turning to see what’s going on now, the brothers have JP in a coffin, and it’s hoisted up onto six brothers’ shoulders.
“This is so weird,” Annie whispers.
“It is what it is. He was a good man from what I hear.”
“Did you not know him?”
“Not really.”
We follow the rest of the club outside and like with Pope back in Willow’s Peak, JP is to be buried on Lost Souls land. The grave has already been dug, and he’s lowered into the ground. Stories are stuck up and roll into drinking and fucking about.
This is not how I want to go out. There’s something cold about it.
I shudder at the thought and Annie runs her fingers down my arm. “How about we go somewhere, and I’ll warm you up?” she offers.
She has an offer I’ll not refuse. She takes me by the hand, and I roll with it.
She has an apartment across the street and the place is tidy and unnaturally clean when I step inside.
The furniture is expensive and if I didn’t know where we were, I wouldn’t guess we were in Five Falls.
It’s worlds away from what I was expecting.
“You’ve got a nice place,” I point out.
“Thanks, my bedroom is nicer.”
Her eyes glisten with mischief and I’m hard as granite. She wraps her legs around me as I lift her, pressing my lips to hers. She tastes of fun and naughtiness.
She points over her shoulder to her room, and I kick open the door, us landing on her bed with a bounce.
Her giggle is musical. Breaking the kiss, I lean up and shrug out of my cut and yank my hoodie and tee over my head.
I make quick work taking my jeans and boxers off and by the time I’m naked, she’s just as bare as me.
Parting her legs, she licks two fingers and slides them inside herself. My dick throbs as I watch. The second she moans, I’m on top of her and she’s guiding me inside her. She gasps as I slam into her and shudders as I pull out.
“You feel so good,” she purrs, digging her nails into my ass cheeks. She doesn’t feel so bad herself, especially when she clamps down around me.
“You keep doing that, I’m not going to last long,” I warn.
“We’ve got all night.”
I roll us over and she rides me into oblivion. It takes everything to last as long as I do. Keeping my load and dick inside her, she drapes herself over me and kisses my chest.
“What chapter are you from?” she asks, raking her nails down my neck.
“Willow’s Peak.”
“What’s it like there?”
I don’t particularly want to talk but I tell her, “It’s home, same as any other place.”
“Have you got anyone waiting for you?”
A question I hear more often than not. Lily comes to mind but that is nothing serious. “Nah. I take it you’re free and single.”
“You wouldn’t be in my bed if I weren’t.”
“Fair enough.”
Sliding my hand into her hair, I pull her closer to my lips. Kissing her will stop the talking. I’m not interested in learning about each other. I need her so I can forget the whole damn world for a night.
