Eventually, some of the fire left his dark irises, allowing the blue ring to glitter a little more. “All right. A quiet place to talk is probably a good idea,” he said slowly, suspicion still evident in his tone and expression but his thoughts focused on trust—not of Az but of me. “I have some things to share with you both as well.”
Az arched a brow as he came to stand right beside us, forming a triangle with our bodies. “I assume it’s about whatever Typhos and Melek had to say?”
“As if you don’t know already,” Ajax muttered.
The Commander’s eyebrow inched higher. “Actually, I have no idea why he wanted to see you. I just know he vowed not to hurt you.” Az looked him up and down. “And you seem unharmed, so he clearly upheld his part of the deal.”
Ajax grunted. “And what did he ask you for in thatdeal, hmm?”
Az frowned. “Nothing. I was using it as a figure of speech. He promised not to hurt you, and I believed him because he doesn’t lie. But he didn’t tell me what he wanted to discuss, which I assume now was a deal of some kind?” An unsettling note entered Az’s voice toward the end, indicating he was at least a little disturbed by this development.
I shared that opinion. “What did Lucifer say?”
Ajax’s jaw clenched again, his cheekbones sharper as a result of his tense expression. “He proposed an offer that would guarantee Cami’s safety, as well as give me a respectable Hell Fae status. But there’s a stipulation.”
“Which is?” Az pressed, his unease more than palpable now.
Ajax said nothing for a long moment, causing my heart to race. “What’s the stipulation, Ajax?” I asked, needing to know. “What does he want in return?” Because whatever it was, it wasn’t good. I could see it in Ajax’s eyes, feel it through our bond, hearit in the way that his mind had gone silent.
“He wants me to mate him,” Ajax muttered. “And he wants my response in one week—at the Interrealm Fae Ball.”
CHAPTER 2
TYPHOS
Fuck, Melek’s mouth was my addiction. My everything. Mylife. The way he played me with his tongue while gripping my base with his hand…
I’d give him anything.
The world.
This entire fucking universe.
Mmm, all I want from you is your cum, my king,Melek purred into my mind as he hollowed his cheeks around my shaft.
I cursed, a growl rumbling in my chest. “Deeper,” I demand. “Take me deeper.”
Thinking about Cami’s sweet cunt?Melek whispered, the taunt in his voice nearly undoing me.
I hadn’t been thinking about Camillia at all, but his words created an image I couldn’t ignore. A desire I longed to suffocate. An urge that gripped me by the balls and made me that much harder.
Because now all I could think about was how Camillia De la Croix would take my cock. How deep she’d swallow. How hard I would fuck her.
“Melek,” I snarled.
Have I mentioned how skilled her tongue is?he asked as he licked some precum from my tip. “If she gives head nearly as well as she kisses, then we’ll both be in for a world of pleasure,” he added out loud, his lips brushing my damp skin. Then he closed his mouth over my head and sucked me into the back of his throat.
Flames lit up inside me, my desire mounting to a crescendo that tightened my groin and left me breathless. “You’d better fucking swa?—”
Blazing agony speared through my mind in the next breath, killing my orgasm and knocking me off-kilter as Az’s fury whipped across my senses. You asked Ajax tomateyou?he demanded, his words underlined with power.
Melek popped up, his expression concerned. “Ty?”
“I’m fine,” I ground out, my hand going to my throbbing head as my body caught up with the pain licking a fiery path down my spine.Az,I hissed back via my mental connection with my normally levelheaded mate.
What the fuck, Typhos? What the hell are you thinking?
That mating Ajax will allow me to better protect you and Melek,I muttered back to him.
