“Now you’re just using words against me,” she muttered, sitting up. I was very pleased that she hadn’t tried to hide her body from me, especially now as her bare breasts swayed a little.

She was so fucking sexy like this—exposed, vulnerable, andin my bed.

“I said I wanted my Melek back, and now you’re saying you want your Cami back,” she went on. “Not very clever, Hell Fae Prince.”

I cut my palm again, aware that the wound had already closed. “It made you move, didn’t it?”

Those pretty eyes of hers narrowed even more. “If we do this and it breaks our bond, I’m going to be pissed.”

I arched a brow. “Oh?”

“Wait.” Her expression changed from heated annoyance to confusion. “Lucifer wants to mate Ajax. Does that mean…?”

“He suspects his soul is compatible with our Warden’s?” I finished for her. “Yes.”

“But what if he’s wrong? Will that negate the deal?”

“There is no more deal,” I told her. “Ty already reinstated Ajax’s role as Warden, and he’s in the process of confirming his place as a Hell Fae.” Along with a few other details—like ensuring everyone knew Ajax was part of his inner circle now.

She blinked. “When did that happen?”

“While you were showering,” I replied. “Well, technically, he made the decision after catching you in the sky. Or maybe even before that. But?—”

“He caught me in the sky?”

I hummed in confirmation. “And then he put you in our bed.”

Her eyes widened. Then she shook her head. “We’ll come back to that.” She cleared her throat. “If he knew this third phase might not work, then he had a loophole set into his own agreement. What would have happened if Ajax and Lucifer couldn’t mate?”

I considered that for a moment, then shrugged. “Knowing Ty, he would have written in a clause that stated Ajax had to claim him as a Midnight Fae mate. But it’s a moot point now—there’s no deal.”

“So he wouldn’t have reneged on the offer?” she pressed.

“Are you worried he had that as a backdoor escape to show unfaithfulness on Ajax’s part?” I wondered aloud, my brow furrowing. “Because Ty may write deals in his favor, but he’s notVivaxia.”Shewould have written such a loophole into her own agreement, and often did.

“No, I…” She frowned again. “So Ajax would have had to claim him with his Midnight Fae power—because he could still do that.”

“Yes, but I doubt it would be necessary. Their souls are as compatible as ours.” Well, perhaps not as compatible, but definitely complementary.

“So if this fails…” she went on, ignoring me, her expression clearing as her eyes radiated stark resolve. “If this fails, then I’m going to figure out how Hell Fae claim mates, and force you to be mine.”

The conviction in her tone and her words made my dick throb.

“I think I like where this is headed,” I admitted. “Will you tie me down and have your way with me, too?”

She growled, the sound reminding me of the night we’d first met. She’d growled at me then, too, infuriated by me not helping her.

Little did she know how much I was assisting her that night.

And always.

I would never have let anything happen to her. But I did want her to realize how much she could accomplish on her own. I’d recognized her strength and spirit, her power a beacon to my senses.

That night—and all the days since—had showcased her talents in a myriad of ways.
