"It is. I hope I haven't forgotten anything. I'm not good at this shit." Beau sat down at the table.
"It sounds like you and Parson have got everything covered. I'm sorry we can't be there, but you can count on a large donation from the STK team." Bryon grinned.
Beau laughed. That meant that Bryon was taking the money that the team had cleaned out of pedophiles' accounts and donating to the cause, which was just fine with him. The pedophiles were locked up and had no need for the money, and with Carter's skills, he was able to move the money around without anyone being wiser to the theft of it. "I appreciate that."
"Your parents coming?"
"Yeah, surprisingly, my mom, dad, and sister will all be there. I don't think I've seen them together at an event since Beth and I were kids. It will either be a great chance for photo ops of the whole family or a nightmare when war breaks out."
"It's not that bad." Bryon sat down with him.
"No, most of the fireworks happen between Dad and me. He's pretty calm with Beth until she suddenly shows that she knows more about running the business than Dad does, then he'll shut things down quickly somehow." Beau sighed. "I just want to get this out of the way and done with so we can start looking at property. Dad has offered to buy a lot downtown, which would be amazing, but I'm not sure of his reasoning yet, and what he'll profit from it, so I'm holding him off for a while. I'd like to find my own place if I can."
"That warehouse that caught fire downtown is just sitting there. Might look into that."
"Yeah, once I know for sure what we've raised, I'll start looking harder." Beau glanced up as the door opened and Noam and Kasey walked in. Kasey was using Noam's body as a crutch as he limped inside.
"What happened to you?" Bryon rolled his eyes.
Beau stood, going over to help support Kasey.
"It's just a sprain," Kasey grumbled.
"Basketball again?" Beau asked as he led him to a chair.
Noam laughed. "Would you believe the shooting range?"
Beau stared at Kasey. "How do you sprain an ankle at the shooting range?"
Bryon got up and tossed an ice pack from the freezer at Noam, then grabbed a clean dish towel and threw it at him too.
"It was an accident." Kasey flinched as Beau worked off his tennis shoe.
"I'd hope it was an accident. We'll have words if you're doing this shit on purpose." Beau slowly peeling off his sock. "Doesn't look too bad."
"So how the hell did you do this at the gun range?" Bryon laughed.
"He tripped over a bag we had set on the ground. He was walking backward talking to me and didn't see it. I tried to warn him, but he'd already gotten his foot stuck in the handle and down he went." Noam was trying to hold back a laugh.
"Go ahead and laugh, I know you want to." Kasey punched Noam in the thigh playfully.
"You would be laughing at me if I'd done it." Noam leaned down and kissed Kasey's cheek. "How bad is it, Doc?"
Beau glanced up. "Not the worst he's done. The one four months ago was worse. This is going to hurt for a few days, but keep it wrapped and stay off it as much as you can and you'll be fine."
"I'm fine now. I'll just ice it tonight and rest. I'll be back to normal tomorrow." Kasey argued.
"That wouldn't be because you have a sting tomorrow night, would it?" Bryon raised a brow.
"It's a simple one. Single female, no kids on site. I'll be fine." Kasey stared at Bryon as if daring him to refuse him the case.
"We'll see how you feel in the morning. If you can't put full weight on it, you don't go. I'll send Xander or Dyson," Bryon warned.
Beau stood. "I say you need at least three to five days off it, but I know you never listen to me. I'll wrap it now, but it's up to you two if you go tomorrow night. Just don't fake it. You're going to fuck up your ankles if this keeps happening. I swear I've never met anyone as clumsy as you. Dyson comes close, but what is this, four times in the last year?"
"It's not my fault," Kasey cried. "I swear I'm trying to be careful."
Noam snorted.
