Page 62 of Capturing Love
My fingers paused as I unwrapped the packaging and I peered up at him with a smirk. “You better be careful, Gray.”
His forehead creased. “What? Why?”
“People might actually start to like you.”
His cheeks turned a slightly deeper shade of pink, and he looked away with a smile. “Come on, quit giving me grief and help me out here.”
I pulled out the empty tray and reloaded it. “Now just push—”
“Here?” His fingers slid over mine on the print button and we froze.
Sparks surged through my body, staggering my breath as I slowly peered up into his alluring green eyes. There was something swirling behind them that both frightened and excited me.
He ran his thumb back and forth over my hand, sending tingles from my head to my toes and settling somewhere in-between. As his eyes burned into mine, he opened his mouth to say something.
Pete strode into the room, sorting through a sack of documents in his arms, while I quickly pulled my hand away and picked up my deserted coffee.
He saw me first and smiled. “Josie.”
“Hey, Pete,” I uttered, smiling tightly.
His attention shifted to Grayson who removed his printout from the tray. “William?” He was clearly just as surprised to see him there as I was.
“Good afternoon, Peter. How’s that report coming along?”
Pete nodded. “Great actually. Just printing it off now.”
“Excellent. I’ll wait here then.”
“Oh, I don’t mind bringing it to your office,” Pete said, looking nervous.
Grayson waved him off. “It’s fine. You can fill me in on your last racquetball match while we wait.” Whaaaat?
Pete’s eyes lit up. “Sure,” he said, with a huge smile. “Hey, great shirt, by the way,” he added, pointing to Grayson. “I have one just like it.”
My eyes went round. He was wearing Pete’s shirt. “Well, I better get back to my office,” I uttered as Grayson smirked knowingly.
Pete beamed over at me. “Are you coming to The Edge tonight?”
I smiled. “I should be able to sneak one drink in.”
“Great. I’ll see you there.”
As I left the room, my gaze flickered to Grayson, but he was too busy sending silent daggers into the back of Pete’s head. Oh dear.

Friday night drinks were, once again, a joyous occasion. No longer did we need to vent about the evil that were the Harlow brothers, and it was a welcomed relief. With Adam away, Grayson turned the office around, and it hadn’t gone unnoticed.
“So, it’s his brother who’s the douche?” Amy clarified as we made our way to The Edge to meet the others.
I shrugged. “It seems to be panning out that way. Gra…I mean William still has a lot of work to do to win everyone over, but at least he’s trying.”
Amy narrowed her eyes. “Are you guys still…”
“No!” I replied too quickly. “I’m not going there.”
She grinned. “But you want to?”
