Page 153 of Capturing Love
My smile grew as my heart resumed. “Is that a yes?”
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she launched into my arms. “That’s a hell yes.” She laughed, and tilted her face towards me with a smile I’ll never forget. She kissed me hard, and I matched her ferocity. Her hands held my stubbled cheeks as I wrapped my arms tightly around her waist, easily taking her weight.
“Hang on…” I said, easing her down onto her toes. I took her hand and squeezed it. “We forgot something.”
As I slipped the ring onto Josie’s finger, her breath caught.
“Is this the same opal?” she asked, wide eyed.
I nodded and stared straight into her deep brown eyes. “I had no intention of ever letting you go.”
Full of emotion, she slid her arms around my neck and I lifted her up until her lips were level with mine.
“So, when do you wanna do this?” she murmured, her mouth hovering over mine.
I chuckled at her enthusiasm. “How does tomorrow sound?”
Josie’s eyes grew as I continued.
“I know this great little chapel in Vegas, and they just happen to have the best Elvis in town.”
Her sparkling eyes warmed my heart. “It sounds perfect,” she said, grinning ear to ear.
Josie lowered her gaze and smiled down at the little list that brought us together. “I guess I won’t be needing this anymore.”
I took it from her hand and slid it back into my pocket. “You’ll have to make a new one,” I said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
She lifted her eyes. “I can’t think of anything else I want to do right now, except you.”
My pants tightened under her heated gaze. “Well, there’s your first item.”
She laughed and lay gentle kisses on my smiling lips. “And second…and third…and fourth…”
“Come on.” I chuckled, holding her at armlengths to avoid an embarrassing situation. “There must be a million things you want to do.”
“Well, this isn’t just about me anymore. What would you put on there?”
“Easy.” I shrugged nonchalantly. “Number one. Same as you.” I winked and she smirked. “Number two. Travel the world with you. Number three. Move in with you.” Her smile grew. “Number four. Work with you. Number five. Have babies with you.” I ignored her wide eyes. “Number six. Grow old with you. But I’ll happily interchange number five, with any other number.”
Blush rose up her neck and she wiped away a tear. “That sounds like an amazing list.”
My heart swelled. “Really?” I’d never broached the topic of kids, but prayed she’d want them too.
“Really,” she said, pulling me towards her.
I pressed my forehead against hers and exhaled slowly. “I love you.”
Her hands circled my ears before easing their way through my hair. “I love you too.”
Our smiling lips collided and didn’t part until the sun had set, and our eyes mirrored the starry night sky.

We arrived back in Las Vegas by helicopter an hour later, still buzzing.
I pulled Josie toward the Bellagio Fountain in lieu of our hotel, because I didn’t want to say goodnight just yet. I booked us separate rooms for the night, because Grandpa told me so, but now I was regretting it.
“So, what should we do with our last night of ‘single life’?” I asked, squeezing her hand.
