I smile to myself thinking of her sobbing into the dirt over her present. When I left, she was a mess.

I had to come back under the cover of night and check on her. Maybe she will see now that not even her garden matters.

But my joy washed away when I came back, replaced with seething fury filling me to the brim.

I had my pocket of mints, ready to settle in for the night, and watch her.

But then I saw him. I need to make him leave her.
