Story: The Spring in My Heart
I need to go. Get away fast before it’s impossible for me to go.
But she inches up more and brushes her mouth to mine, her tongue sliding over my lips.
This is not good.
It’s soft, sweet, and sexy.
It’s fucking heaven.
I let go of her hand so I can hold her at the base of her neck and caress her back as my mouth opens, and I take control of the kiss.
She doesn’t taste like I remember. Her mouth is more potent, wetter, hotter.
Her hands are grabbing onto my sweater, and she’s pressing herself tighter to me. I can feel her tits, the pebbles of her nipples through her sweater.
She hums again, and I need to feel the skin of her back, so my hand sneaks under her top.
“Lux. What the fuck? You left the door open.”
We both freeze.
It’s Chase.
Shit.
She pulls back, looking to the stairs and then back at me. “I’ll be back.”
She darts off and disappears into the hallway. I cross the room to sit in my vacant chair. The last thing I need is for him to catch me with a woody in his sister’s family room. My butt hits the seat just as Chase reaches the upstairs.
Her brother is big, like a tight end. Even with a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a gift bag in the other, he looks menacing. And if he had walked upstairs a few minutes earlier, he probably would have beat my ass and then made me eat all those roses and the peonies too.
“Coach.” His smile is unsure. If ‘what the fuck are you doing here?’ was a facial expression, it would look just like him right now.
I manage a smile of my own. “I was inspecting the work today and got caught in the middle of the taping. I thought I mentioned yesterday that I was coming to do work here.”
He frowns and then smiles again, more assured this time. “You’re right. I’m sorry. You know I have two kids now. A lot of stuff to remember.”
He looks over to the hot chocolate mugs.
Yeah, I’m going to have to fight him.
“I get that. I stayed until the end because they were taping her video. Lux offered me some hot chocolate.”
“Oh.” Chase nods. “Did it go okay?”
“I don’t know much about that stuff, but I thought she did great. Mimi thought so too.”
“Oh, God. Mimi was here? Thank God I missed that,” Chase says, moving to the couch. He takes Lux’s mug and takes a sip. “This tastes like Lauren’s hot chocolate.”
“Yeah, it’s really good.” I start to push off the chair.
He points at the chair I left vacant. “Stay a little, Coach.”
I nod. “Only for a bit. I have to go get Ayla.”
“She’s at Cam’s. I just spoke to Bron on the phone.”
“Yeah, but I don’t want to abuse the friendship and leave her there for too long.”
