Story: F*ck It Out With A Devil
“You are a riot. What can I do for you?”
“Don’t ask me a loaded question like that, brat, because I can guarantee that you won’t be able to handle my answer.” I consider that for a moment, and once again… He’s not wrong. “You’re blushing, babe.”
“Dammit, Karter, stop it.” I put my head down, pretending to focus on my lunch when his big, rough, calloused hand slides under my chin and lifts it up.
“Let me see those red cheeks, Athens, because I promise this won’t be the only time a blush graces your face where I’m concerned.”“Oy vey. I’m in deep shit.”
“You're in deep shit, and I just wanna be deep in something else.” He is very outspoken, and that has the heat rising up, to an almost unbearable feeling, causing me to start fanning myself.
“Is it hot in here?”
“We’re outside, babe.” He laughs, and it’s deep and throaty, and so friggin’ sexy.
I cleared my throat, “So, did you witness that little fiasco just a minute ago?”
“You could say that.”
“Do you know who those other guys were? The ones that started the whole thing?”
“Yeah, those assholes are part of The Demons Guard”
“And let me guess, they are the rival group of those masked men that they were arguing with?”
“You guessed it.” He says, taking a seat across from me. I’m greeted with his beautiful baby blue eyes, a tattoo above the left one, and those thin but luscious lips. I'd love nothing more than to pull them between my very own lips and suck. “You’re very observant.” His comment is meant to be funny, because anyone with working eyes could have guessed what was going on.
“Why thank you.” I fake bow. “What was all that about?”
“Oh, nothing you need to worry about.”
“Yeah, I know, but it’s just, Jensen made a call before he left, and it was rather disturbing. But, who can I tell? I don’t know the guys in masks to tell them what I heard.”
“What did you hear?” He questions, giving me his undivided attention.
Interesting. I search face for a moment longer before my mouth begins to tell him what I hear. When I’m done, he looks like he’s ready to beat somebody up.
“Thanks, babe, I’ve gotta jet. Catch you later?” He asks, getting up, coming over to me, placing a brief kiss on my lips.
“Karter, you can’t do that.”“Oh, yes, I can. I do what I want.” He laughs. “Later.” And just like the magical wisp of smoke he rolled in on, he’s gone, and I’m left to have lunch by myself.
The rest of my day proves to be boring and uneventful. Who am I kidding? The rest of my day was great and once I made it home, I was so tired, I couldn’t do much else but fall into bed and sleep.
Chapter Eighteen
Wyck
Ireflectontheevents of earlier this week. I gave everyone a job to do, because we needed answers to all the shit that seemed to be happening right under our noses, and that’s not how The Devils operate. Since Dash has the most missions to complete, I try to lighten his load by going to my number two guy to get the task I really need completed… Sooner rather than later.
“Ryan, whatcha got for me?” I ask, walking up behind her in the computer room, watching her jump from the sound of my voice scaring the shit out of her.
“Wyck! Don’t do that! You are the only one that knows just how to give me a potential heart attack.”
“Sorry. In my defense, you are an easy target.” I chuckle.
“And you are an asshole.” She laughs. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” This time she rolls her eyes at me, which brings on more laughter.
“Dash is tied up with something, and I need your expertise.”
“Oh sure, you all only come to me when you want or need something.” She gives me her back.
