Page 53 of Wicked Throne
That traitorous bitch, I thought.
“We are.”
Had I just rolled my neck?
I had.
“Diamond,” he said through gritted teeth. “Let’s go.”
“I’m having a drink,” I replied.
“Then I’m having one too.”
“Go away.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” he sat down on the stool previously occupied by the forgotten Gold Fangs.
Bartender boy looked disappointed that we weren’t going to cause a scene. He took Thierry’s order and hurried away.
“So…”
“What?”
“Why are we fighting? What have I done now that warrants you not answering the phone?”
“I don’t have to answer to you, Thierry. I don’t need to tell you anything about where I’m going or even who I’m with.”
His eyes seemed to turn black. He had the audacity to be upset, meanwhile, my baby was burned to cinders. Nothing remained of the business I had built with hard work.
“Diamond, you are my wife.”
“And?”
“What the fuck is going on….what is with this sudden attitude change. We were fine this morning when you fucked my brains out. You literally rode my face so hard I was suffocating…and now it's just fuck what we’ve built up.”
“Talia’s in town,” I replied as his drank arrived.
His black eyes went wide and recognition settled in.
“Did she do or say something?”
“So you knew your crazy ass ex-girlfriend was in town. This is the same woman that had your brother shot….and didn’t think to tell me?”
“I….that was an oversight on my part,” Thierry murmured. “I’m sorry.”
“You got that right,” I rolled my eyes.
“Did she threaten you?”
There was no more vodka in my glass. I wanted to pout. I wanted to go home to my girls, Sophia, Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy but instead, I was here arguing at a bar with a dumbass.
Men could be so damn dumb.
Pussy runs everything,I thought.Make him remember that.
Liquor was in my system now. Thierry was trying to stumble through an apology I wasn’t interested in. He had legit put my life in danger by not letting me know.
“I’ll be staying at my place from now on,” I snapped.
