Boris texted five times in the past hour, some emergency at one of the locations. I want to blow him off and tell him to fucking deal with it, but I know that won’t work forever.

I grumble and get up from the couch. Micah gives me a curious look.

“I need to check on one of my restaurants,” I tell Micah. “Will you be all right alone for a few hours?”

He nods, but there’s something wary about the way he’s holding himself. He’s been so relaxed as he kneels beside me, but there’s tension in his shoulders now. “Are you sure you want me to stay here while you’re gone?” he asks.

“Why wouldn’t I?” I ask. “You won’t steal my things.”

I don’tthinkhe would. I’m reminded that I barely know Micah. Everybody has been warning me not to dive into this relationship with him too fast.

If he did steal from me, I don’t know how I’d react.

Disappointment.

Anger.

Rage.

So much for me being better than my father. The anger still has a hold on me, no matter what I claim.

I let out a small chuckle. “Please don’t steal anything.”

Micah’s head jerks up, and the look he gives me is wounded. “I wouldn’t do something like that to you. I didn’t steal from Adam, either. I’m not a thief.”

“Thank you.” I take my wallet, keys, and cell phone and head toward the door. “You can eat whatever you want from the fridge.”

Micah shakes his head. “I’m still full from dinner. I’ll probably finish the movie, then head to bed.”

My bed, I hope, and not the guest bed. I want to come home and crawl into bed with him.

Except that might not be enough for him. He likes to be hurt. He wants somebody to choke him with cock and hit him with those implements.

I wave to Micah and head outside. Once I’m in the car, I glance at my phone again.

There’s still the text from Silvano, too.

Cresci

Come to Club Alpha tonight. If you show up by 10pm, you’ll get quite the show.

It’s 9 p.m. now. I have time to take care of whatever issue Boris is having, then head to the BDSM club Silvano Cresci frequents.

He’d invited me to the club once before, when his father was still alive. He wasn’t out then, and of course neither was I, so there had been women fawning over him. I hadn’t suspected he wasn’t straight.

Most people don’t suspect it about me, either.

I call Boris, and after a bit of back and forth—including me yelling at Boris to just fucking deal with shit—I send a text to Silvano that I’m on my way.

The half hour drive to Club Alpha feels endlessly long. Maybe this is a bad idea. I should be with Micah. I can ask him how he likes things, what I need to do.

But he wants to be the submissive partner. I need to be the one in control. I need to prove to him that I know how to do these things, that he can trust me with it.

I haven’t figured anything out by the time I reach the club.

Silvano is waiting for me near the entrance, along with Kyran. Silvano waves to me.

“Perfect. I told Kyran you’d show, but he didn’t believe me.” Silvano nudges Kyran with his elbow. “You’ll have to pay up later.”
