She hums as I lower to my elbows, my arms either side of her head. “Happy.” Her eyes uncurl, and I lose my breath, gazing into them.

Happiness.

Calm.

Purpose.

I see it all.

Her fingers begin light strokes from the base of my spine to my shoulders, lazily dusting over the tops of my arms, before making her way back down my spine.

My head drops to hers, relishing the gentle contact, my body relaxing.

“Are you?”

“Better than that.” I rock my hips, and her nails dig in on their journey back to my shoulders. “I’m complete.”

Mollie’s eyes lift, and I look down at her. My hand brushes the side of her face as tears fill her eyes. I lower my lips, pressing them to hers with another roll of my hips. “I didn’t expect to find you, Mollie.” Roll. “But somehow, you’ve ended up being everything I didn’t know I needed.” Roll.

“Even though I challenge you?” She drags her nails up my spine.

My hips roll again and I hold myself deep, taking her breath, burying my mouth in the crook of her neck. I drag her arms off my shoulders, lacing my fingers through hers, and hold them above her head. “Especially because you challenge me.”

My teeth drag to her ear and I tease her lobe, my hips picking up a slow, but steady pace. I’ve never made love to a woman until now. Couldn’t ever picture myself taking my time with anyone else the way I am with her. Every noise she makes, every shake of her hips. Every smile, every kiss. I want to absorb it. Want it to consume me so fully because this feels right. So fucking right. And so fucking perfect.

Feeling her body begin to stiffen, my balls tighten, and my hips begin to quicken. I find her mouth, panting between each delicate roll of my tongue against hers.

“Travis, I’m there.”

My head hovers above hers, our noses touching. “Give me those eyes, baby.”

She immediately opens them, fixing them on me.

And with a few thrusts of my hips, burning flames engulf me. White-hot fire scorches my tingling skin. My heart drills behind my ribs as Mollie begins to shudder. “Jesus,” I choke, collapsing forward, my hips convulsing.

Mollie’s fingers tighten around mine, and I kiss her neck, breathing heavy. Completely fucking spent. Her body relaxes, and I when I’ve finally come down from my high, I roll to the bed, keeping myself inside her as I drag her onto me, her head falling flat to my chest.

We’re both breathing heavy, both hot and unable to talk.

But we know.

Whatever we weren’t looking for.

This is it.

Chapter Seventeen

MOLLIE

We didn’t ask for this, but it’s what we found. Unexpected. Terrifying. Passionate. It’s all ours. He doesn’t know it yet, but in this moment, I want to tell him that I love him. It sounds ridiculous. Like a dream that I haven’t yet woken up from. But it’s the truth.

I love him.

I love the way this man frees me. I love the way he makes me feel like I’m invincible. Like I can be myself with him.

I love him so completely, it’s blinding.

His hands wrap around my throat, and I tip my head back as I lower my hips down onto him. We haven’t stopped fucking. We’ve made love, I’m sure of it, but in between the slow and the gentle sex, he’s fucked me so many times I’ve lost count.
