Page 105 of Tied to You
Dean’s voice makes jolt. “Hard to tell, brother.”
He takes a breath. “We need this guy.”
Knowing best when it comes to his uncle’s business, Elvis assures us this Matthew is persistent enough to have on board. Him and his elite friends aren’t the biggest buyers, but they’re certainly the most prolific. You ask me, we can always find more reliable sources.
You ask me, I’d put a bullet between his eyes.
End of.
I’m a sensible man when needed. Can think clearly when the time arises. Just not when it comes to Mollie. He’s lucky that for now, I can’t kill him.
For now.
“We need him placing orders before he loses interest,” Dean adds. “Rich boys like the good stuff.”
Coming in from Europe, Nathan sure has some pretty established pipelines. I’ll give him that. “I want him dead.”
“Why?”
I shake my head. I know she’ll be able to hear what I’m saying. I don’t want to tell Dean that a guy we need for business tried his luck with her, so I say, “He hurt Mollie.”
He’s quiet before he speaks. “Oh.” Without any details, he can tell by the tone of my voice I’m not fucking happy. “Do we need to change our plan?”
My eyes shut, my free hand rubbing my temple. I don’t know why I’m surprised. Dean would do anything for the club. More so, for his family. We may not be bonded by blood, but his simple question tells me he’d risk securing this buyerforme and my selfish need for retribution. “No,” I tell him, my fist balling again.
“Okay,” he says calmly. “Look, I’m not his biggest fan either. But he threatened us with going to Nathan. We have to take that seriously.” A low growl escapes me. “Everyone else up until now has taken our generous price and it’s been done. But he wants more, clearly.”
My eyes spring open. “What are you suggesting we do?”
“I’m suggesting we give him no option. Mop’s meeting Len, but he’ll catch up.”
Hard lines pull across my face. I don’t know which way to jump on this. Dean’s dived deeper into his darkness since being back. Going to Matthew isn’t going to help. But, “I’m leaving now,” I tell him.
This cunt needs to know we’re not fucking about.
Hitting the end call button, I make my way to our bedroom, stopping outside the door. I know Mollie will be waiting for me to go in. My hand raises to open it. But I stop myself. I go in, she’ll either convince me to let her come along, or we’ll end up fighting. Either way, I don’t have the time for it. Her safety is my priority, that’s all that matters.
Turning, I walk away, refusing to look back.
We ride out to Matthew’s estate. The prick, unsurprisingly, isn’t pleased to see us. His sour face does bring mine out in a smile, though. He traipses down the expansive gravel pathway, meeting us by our bikes. When I see him looking panicky, I immediately feel better about being here.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” His voice is all whispery and posh-like. The cunt.
I don’t bother removing my helmet. I don’t even bother to stand. Neither does Mop.
Dean, however, climbs off his bike and greets him. “Need to push you on your first order.”
Matthew huffs, running a hand through his shiny, overgrown hair. “This isn’t how business is done. You’re lucky my father isn’t here.”
Or what?
Mop sniggers under his breath. He’s amused, too.
“Listen.” Dean takes a step closer to him, removing his glasses. “Things are moving fast. We need you buying from us now.”
Matthew laughs at Dean, and I just know, canfeelDean’s about to do something stupid.
I cough, trying to keep him on track.
