Page 107 of Tied to You
I press him down harder as Dean lands a blow to his ribs. We look deranged, both acting like mean bastards as we grabble with the idiot. We’ve got three more buyers to secure like Matthew here, and something tells me they’ll be just as fucking bad as him.
Hearing footsteps from outside, I freeze.
Dean grabs a cloth from the table and forces it down Matthew’s throat, muffling his gags.
We both look at Mop, and I dive my hand inside my cut, grabbing my knife.
Mop glances at Dean, and he gives him a nod.
I stand straight, watching as Mop readies himself to jump whoever comes in. Business is business now. Matthew’s got whoever’s coming in a whole world of trouble.
He presses his ear to the door, watching as the handle slowly begins to turn.
My hold on my knife tightens. We’re about to have a showdown.
With a creek, the door opens a fraction. He makes his move to grab the person but his eyes pop out from his head. “The fuck?” He looks at me, and I glance at Dean before going to see who’s at the fucking door.
Mop steps back, exchanging places with me.
My eyes must be fucking deceiving me. Unexplainable anger rises in my chest as I watch her eyes widen before they narrow.
She glances past me, but I move my body, blocking her vision. “The fuck are you doing here?” I don’t shout, but my voice is thunderous.
“Somone’s coming,” she says nervously. “A car, it just pulled up.” She shakes, and I grab her arm, caught between dragging her inside the room we’re in or charging out and throwing my weight around.
It’s an easy choice. I make my move, but her hand gently places on my arm. I look down, watching it, unable to make her remove it so that I can carry the fuck on with what I’m here to do.
“I’ll get rid of them.” She’s so confident. Her eyelashes never battering as she gives me a way out.
A key presses into the lock, and my head bangs. I don’t want to let her do this. “Go,” she says, giving me a little nudge backwards. Jesus fucking Christ. She’s dead after this. I am so fucking mad.
Feeling my chest swell and hands shake, I motion for Dean to keep Matt quiet.
Mop gives him a whack for good measure, shrugging his shoulders at mewhen I scowl at him. My focus is on listening to what’s happening on the other side of the door. I can’t hear shit over Matt’s sobs.
Muffled voices sound and a man sounds surprised to see her. They exchange words and fake pleasantries. Then it goes quiet. Too quiet. For far too long the air is thick as we wait.
I look at Dean. Then at Matt.
Fuck it. I open the door, but at the exact same time as Mollie steps into the room. I don’t back up too far, forcing her to step into me. Words fail me as my heavy breaths rain down on her. I’m relieved she’s here and at the same time, I want to punish her so bad.
“Dean,” she says, daring to bypass me. She knows I can’t function when she drives me this crazy.
“What?” he says, just as mad.
Mollie quickly takes a sidestep, getting him in her view. I watch her take in the scene before her. Unlike the last time we were like this, she maintains her composure. “Remove his gag.”
There’s a collection of ‘what the fuck’ looks shared between us all. Even Matt.
Is she fucking serious?
“Dean, we don’t have long.” She looks at me then back at him. “Please.”
I don’t give Dean my eyes because they’re firmly locked on Mollie, but I hear Matthew suck in air, clearly having had the cloth in his mouth removed.
“You?” he says, licking his lips.
“Yes. Me.” She looks up at Dean. “You can’t do this to him.”
