“You know what I mean.”
“I’m about to sit down to breakfast, but I’ll call again this week.”
“Alright. I love you.”
“I love you too, and give my love to Dad.”
“I will.”
I hung up and got the cream cheese out of the fridge.
The lady doth protest too much.
Just as I had avoided dates because of a string of bad ones… maybe Vivian had been avoiding relationships with the same mindset since her breakup with Lucas. She was engaged once, so the ability to at least take the plunge and commit was there.
My gut told me to focus on learning this dance. Everything depended on that.

He Had to Back His Car into Mine

Iamnotin love with Justin Cooper!
I don’t even believe in love. There is no such thing as soul mates, no one true love, or any of that fairy tale bull-crap. This is purely psychological and chemical. Attraction, yes, lust, definitely there… and maybe I’m confused because I’m starting to develop an attachment. Friendship… without benefits, and those benefits would bereallynice, but it’s not going to happen.
I’m going to Paris and that’s that.
I shut off the water from my shower and grabbed a towel. My thoughts instantly went to last night when I saw his beautiful tight ass. His body soaking wet and hot as hell.
Fate could be so cruel at times.
Why are you tempting me with a chance at amazing, passionate sex when I can’t even take it? Why can’t Justin be a Cary Grant?
I groaned and headed into my bedroom to change. I threw on sweatpants and a hoodie. All my yoga pants were in the hamper from our dance sessions.
Dance. I canceled our dance session today. Guilt crept in and weighed like lead in my belly. I didn’t want to cancel, but I couldn’t spend a whole day with Justin in constant physical contact. I needed to refocus. Nip whatever insanity I was feeling in the bud.
Apartment. I’m going to secure my apartment right now.
I called the agent and left a voicemail. “Hi, Margot. This is Vivian Hall. If one of those three rentals we discussed is available, I want to sign the lease as soon as possible. If not, I’m willing to go with whatever you can find by the move-in date I requested. Call me when you have a chance. Thanks.”
Okay. That part was done. Today, I was going to relax, eat copious amounts of food, catch up on reading and shows, and finally have one full day to myself.

I woke with a kink in my neck, my bag of baked Lay’s in my lap, and chips everywhere.
Great.
I swept the crumbs and pieces on the couch back into the bag and threw it into the trash. I looked at my phone. 7:44 p.m., and I was starving. I’d fallen asleep while binge-watching some show on Netflix about kids with superpowers. If I was eating, it meant I wasn’t much into it anyway. I opened my freezer, and my shoulders slumped when I realized I had no more frozen yogurt… and no chocolate. My fridge was sparse. Some produce, wraps, a rotisserie chicken that had been picked practically to the bone—leaving the skin, of course—and a bag of white tuna. I was not in the mood for salad or tuna.
I needed chocolate. Maybe some Fritos.Gawd. I haven’t had Fritos in ages.
Why not splurge? I’d been burning off extra calories with those dance lessons. I probably wouldn’t lose weight, but I wouldn’t gain any either.
There was a drugstore just across the street that sold dulce de leche Häagen-Dazs… and since Halloween was less than a month and a half away, there had to be a vast selection of candy.
