"Uh… I am. You've got sauce," I say with a laugh, reaching out to wipe the blob from the corner of his mouth.

I gasp when he wraps his hand around my wrist and brings my thumb to his mouth. I'm totally enthralled as he wraps his lips around my thumb and swipes his tongue over my skin.

Tingles zero in on my still aching core as he stares at me, his green eyes darkening.

Holy shit.

A throat clearing behind medrags me from wherever I drifted off to and I tug my arm out of his grasp.

His eyes linger on me for a few seconds as I finally rip open my own bag and unwrap my burger.

"Let?" Luca whispers.

"Yeah?" I ask, refusing to look at him.

"Are you okay?" he asks, reaching out and tucking a lock of my hair behind my ear to stop me from hiding behind it.

"Of course," I force out before shoving my burger into my mouth.

Truth is, I'm not okay. Not by a fucking long stretch but there's shit all him or Leon can do about that right now.

I'm still trying to figure out how I'm supposed to complete my little task that's been set by the devil, let alone attempt to process what the hell happened with Kane tonight.

"You're right. This is insane," I say after swallowing my first bite.

Finally, Luca's eyes leave me in favor of finishing his food but I know this isn't the end of whatever this is. He wants me to talk, to open up. But as much as I know doing so will probably help, I know he's not the one I need to spill everything to.

He's not the one I've been lying to.

And telling him the truth is only going to anger him, and the last thing I want is to be the reason he fucks up the season before it's even started because of a rift with a teammate.

"We should get you back," Luca says once we've all finished eating.

I nod because what else can I do? Beg for him to take me with them?

I'm not scared of Kane turning up in my dorm room. I set myself up for that, after all.

But right now, I'm tired, frustrated and I really don't want to fall into bed alone.

The memory of sleeping with both of them in the previous week with their protective arms around me fills my mind.

But then my memories morph into my time with Kane tonight in the library and my entire body comes to life in a way it never has with Luca and Leon.

The danger. The hate. The punishment.

I shouldn't want any of it, but fuck if I'm not craving it right now.

I lift my hand to my hair and tug a little, mimicking the feeling of him pulling it earlier and the bite of pain I felt all the way down to where he was pounding into me.

My temperature soars and my pulse thunders beneath my skin, my clit begging for attention, to get the release I was so close to earlier.

Before I know it, Luca is pulling up in the parking lot behind my building and killing the engine.

"You want me to walk you up?"

I stare out around our dark and empty surroundings.

I got abducted in daylight, I'm not sure there can’t be anything scarier hiding in the shadows than what I've already experienced today.
