Page 59 of The Alpha's Seer
It's huge! It's black and purple, swollen and sore. I look like I've been attacked by a wild animal. I raise my fingers to touch it and wince, just as the door booms open.
Calix appears behind me, shirtless and wearing only shorts, sweaty as promised. My pulse accelerates immediately, like it usually does, but this is more intense. His skin glistens, and hiseyes glow with amusement, but his expression darkens when he sees my wound.
“Shit,” he mutters, striding over to me, all playfulness gone from his eyes. “Fuck.”
“What?” I panic, turning back to the mirror. “Is this not normal?”
“I've never seen it this bad before,” Calix mutters, dipping his mouth close to the wound. “I'll see if I can help speed up the healing process.”
I gulp as his tongue flickers along the teeth marks, but even though it stings, it alleviates the pain almost instantly, and I sigh with relief.
“Better?” Calix asks, looking at me in the mirror.
“Much,” I respond, pushing his head back down to my wound.
He licks and sucks gently, and I begin to feel the ache subsiding. My head rolls onto his shoulder as he continues, before he whispers in my ear.
“It needs my fluids to heal you.”
“Fluids?” I mumble, drunk on the relief. “As in...”
“Saliva, urine, and blood.”
I freeze. “Urine?”
“I can think of one more.” Calix laughs as his tongue flickers against me. “But I think we'd be better going with blood.”
I shudder. “You'renotbleeding on me. That’s… barbaric!”
But it's too late.
Calix bites into his wrist, his eyes on mine the entire time. He doesn't even wince as blood drips from his mouth, a deep wound on his wrist where blood pours down his forearm in rivers.
“Calix!”
Calix shakes his head at me and holds his wrist over my wound, and even when I try to move, he holds me still. His blood drips onto my skin, and my eyes roll in my head—it's like magic! My skin feels soothed and calm, and as Calix rubs his wrist in circles on my wound, I close my eyes and exhale. I feel terrible that his blood is needed for my relief, but wow...
“All done. Nowthatlooks normal,” Calix states, kissing my cheek and leaving a blood smear.
“Your wrist!” I snap, reaching for his arm as he winks at me.
“Watch me heal.”
I do. I can't believe what I'm seeing—if I thought seeing a wolf turn into a man was strange, then watching skin repair itself like it's on rewind is something else entirely. It knits together seamlessly; the blood disappearing into his flesh as the skin smooths over, leaving no evidence there was anything wrong.
I stare at him in disbelief, but he nods at the mirror and sweeps my hair over my other shoulder.
“My blood runs in yours now,” he murmurs, kissing around the bite mark. “Your skin will heal, your pain will lessen.”
“It already has,” I mumble, unable to believe what I'm seeing. My skin looks scarred, a little lumpy, and red in places but otherwise okay. “How the hell...”
“Welcome to the pack, baby. Speaking of which, we need to make you our Luna officially.”
I run my fingers over my scar and gasp when tingles shoot down my neck and into my core. Calix stares at me as a moan escapes my lips, my butt arching against him.
“I can't pay attention to anything you just said,” I confess, bending forward. “I don't suppose you could fuck me and then tell me, could you?”
I gaze at him in the mirror, and he groans, twisting me by my hips so I'm facing him.
