“Petra,” Isaac greets me with a gentle kiss on my cheek. “Thank you for coming. You, Kat, and Amy’s other friends from home have made it so special for her. I’m really grateful.”

“Congratulations, Isaac. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.” I hold my hand out to him, he takes it even though he looks a little confused. I squeeze his hand hard. Well, hard for me anyway, and lean in a little closer so only he can hear. “You break her heart; I’ll break your balls.” He coughs out a nervous laugh, as I lean back and give him a perfect, forced smile. It’s not that I don’t like you Isaac, I do. But Amy’s been through enough and us girls need to stick together.

“Petra, I don’t doubt that for one minute, but believe me when I say, I have no intention of hurting her, ever.” I raise an eyebrow at him. “Never again,” he corrects. “Never again. She’s my everything.” I give him a nod and a genuine smile.

“Hey Isaac, sounds like I need to be careful not to upset this friend of Amy’s?”

I glance to Isaac’s left to find the gorgeous specimen of a man that I’ve been eyeing up through most of the wedding ceremony. The fitty that I believe to be one of Isaacs’s brothers. Amy has spoken of him before, but up until today, I had never met him.

“Ah yes, of course, you two haven’t been introduced yet.” Isaac turns to his brother. “This little firecracker is Petra, now don’t be deceived by that angelic face of hers. She’s one hell of a spunky lady.”

“God, I so hate that word ‘spunky’,” I chip in.

“Okay, feisty is that better?” Isaac offers.

“I’ll take that,” I grin.

“This is my brother, Cade. I’m trying to convince him to come work for me, to head up a Legal team, but he’s having none of it. You could put in a good word for me?”

I give Cade a slow, exaggerated head to toe once over before I comment.

“Looks to me like he’s big enough to make his own decisions.” I smile sweetly and hold out my hand. “Hi Cade,”

“Feisty?” he takes my hand, his fingers curling around it, his hold firm but gentle. “Hi Petra, it’s lovely to meet you.”

Not being of any great stature, and Cade at least a good foot taller, I have to tilt my head to meet his incredibly blue eyes. I can tell that he’s smiling, because of the tiny creases at the corner of his eyes, but I can’t, for the life of me, redirect my gaze. Fuck me! If his eyes were lagoons, I’d be stripped naked and splashing about in them in a nanosecond.

“So, Petra, you work for Isaac?” Cade asks, as I take in the rest of his beautiful face. He’s got those classic American, handsome, strong chiselled features. Almost a cowboy-esque air about him, which has me wondering… is he more Unforgiven or Brokeback Mountain?

“Cade, you're holding up the line here,” Isaac growls quietly from the corner of his mouth. I see Kat is next in line. She’s gorgeous, with her cat like features, tall, slim and legs long enough to wrap around the hunk of magnificent meat that stood right in front of me. Suddenly, I feel small and insignificant. It’s not Kat’s fault that she’s naturally flawless.

“Damn!” Cade cusses under his breath. “Duty calls.” It’s when he pulls me slightly nearer to him I realise he still has hold of my hand. “I’ll catch-up with you later. I’d really like to find out if what my brother says is accurate.” A offers a wink and he slowly releases my hand and turns to the next in line. I stand there watching him, when I should be moving along until…

“Hi, I’m Ben.” My head snaps around so fast that it’s a wonder I don’t get whiplash.

“Oh, yes. Hi Ben,” I stutter. “You must be Isaac’s other brother?”

“Mmm,” he laughs. “Why am I constantly referred to as ‘The other brother.’” he air marks.

“No! Did I hit a sore spot there?” I titter. “I’m sorry… Ben, The Brother, I’m Petra, a friend of Amy’s and I have the delight of having your ‘other brother’ as my boss.”

“Don’t tell me you don’t like Isaac?”

“Actually, Isaac is one of the good ones. I’ve had worse.”

“Mmm, he can still be a bit of an arsehole.”

“I think it’s a requirement for Boss status.”

“You’re very…”

“Ben!” Cade growls. “People are waiting.”

“Chill, man,” Ben replies, but keeping his attention on me. “We can have a drink, chat a little more, once all this meet and greet stuff is done with?”

“BEN!” Cade’s face is turning a dark shade of pissed off. “Move it.”

“I’ll catch up with you later,” Ben sniggers, totally taking his time and making the most of getting on his brother’s tits. He kisses my cheek and whispers, “I wouldn’t mind chatting to your tall blonde friend as well.”
