Page 26 of Taking A Chance
“Better get showered.” She suddenly announces and jumps up out of bed. Before I even have time to pull her back, she’s walking toward the bathroom.
Her messy bed hair hangs loosely down her back. The curve from her tits to her waist is perfect. The slight sway of her hips when she walks, is so sexy that makes has me salivating. And that ass. It’s tight, but not too tight that you don’t get a little wobble at the cheeks when she moves. My dick is as hard as fuck from watching her.
“Come back to bed,” I bark.
“Sorry, Cowboy,” her voice almost singing, coming off weird. “No can do. Time’s a wasting.” The door closes behind her before I get the chance to say another word.
I wait until I hear the water running before I follow. My plan is to sneak into the shower under a cloak of steam, but when I open the door, I find her stood in front of the vanity, head slumped forward and shoulders dropped. As soon as she hears me, her head snaps up, and she smiles. Even through the mirror’s reflection, I can see that it’s fake.
“You okay?” I ask and she nods as if afraid to speak. Reaching for her hand, I take hold and guide her with me into the shower cubicle. As I hold her in my arms, I softly stroke her back, and speak loud enough so she can hear me over the noise of the water flow. “Talk to me, Petra.”
“I’m fine,” she replies. “I’ve just got the, you know, end of holiday blues. Back to reality and all that.”
“So, it’s not because you’re going to desperately miss me, then?”
“Woah there, Cowboy, be careful, otherwise you’re not going to get that gigantic head of yours into your Stetson.”
I tilt her chin up to me so she has to meet my gaze. I bring my mouth down to hers so when I speak, my lips brush hers ever so slightly. “Not just a little?” I ask.
“Well, maybe an incy bit,” she replies, bringing her pinched up finger and thumb up close to my face to indicate how little.
“Well, I’m going to miss you so fucking much, I…”
When her lips cover mine, I’m lost. All my bravado and utter crap that I was spouting in my head early, purely to convince myself that this was going nowhere, is washed away down the drain.
We kiss, we make love and we hold each other, until the water runs cold and we no longer can avoid the inevitable.
Wrapping a thick white towel around her, I pull her in close, realising that this can’t be it. It can’t end here.
“I don’t want this to end. I know it won’t be easy, but we could talk, text, video call. I’ll come over as much as I can. I’ll pay for your ticket over here. Hell, Isaac and Amy did it.” I watch her, as she stares back at me. Her mouth is open and her eyes are wide with surprise. “Damn Petra, say something,” the desperation clear in my voice.
“Yes,” she whispers. “Yes, yes, yes,” she shouts as she jumps up, flinging her arms and legs around me. She clings on to me like a spider monkey, all the while laughing in between our heated kisses. “Now, if I’m not mistaken, there are approximately three hours until I have to leave for the airport.”
“Okay, let me order breakfast then I’ll help you get your stuff together.”
“Fuck that!” she squeals. “I’d much rather spend the time riding my cowboy.
I’m about ready, but not ready, if you know what I mean. My case is packed, I’m dressed, all I need to do is drag my arse downstairs to meet Kat, where she is currently topping up her caffeine levels. I’m physically ready, but mentally… I so don’t want to go home.
After a conversation that bounced back and forth like a Wimbledon tennis final, I’ve convinced Cade not to come to the airport. Match point to me, when I explained I wanted to say my goodbyes to him in private, and not while being watched by a million and one other commuters.
We kissed, we hugged, all the while holding back the urge to climb him like a tree. So, when my phone pings, telling me it’s time, Cade dutifully lets me go with a deep and passionate kiss before collecting my case.
Our journey down in the lift is silent, but looking at each other, our faces portray a thousand ‘I’ll miss you’s’.
We find Kat and Ben stood near the reception desk laughing and joking, acting like it’s just another day, not affected by our pending departure in the slightest.
Cade takes my key card from me and walks over to the desk to check me out of my room, leaving me with the annoyingly happy couple.
“You all set?” Kat asks.
“Of course,” I reply with fake confidence. “It’s been lovely to meet you, Ben.” I put my arms around him, giving him a quick, friendly hug. “Hopefully we’ll get to see you again soon, maybe spend a little more time together,” I say politely.
“You sure will, honey,” he laughs. “You’ve got at least another hour with me. I’m driving you to the airport.”
“What?” I gasp and turn to look at Cade, who is walking back towards us. “I thought we agreed?”
“Ben offered to take you both, so…”
