I just don’t know how long it’ll last if I fail to get the librarian out of my head.
This encounter should set me straight again, though.
We park up a few meters away from Flamingos and saunter inside. She texts us to say that she’s waiting for us in the restaurant, so we walk our way there.
I didn’t expect my heart to be in my throat, anxious about meeting her again. She’s just a person, at the end of the day. It’s no big deal.
But itisa big deal.
Herchestis a big deal.
I stop in my tracks when I lay eyes on her.
I don’t know how I expected her to be dressed, but it wasn’t likethis.
Holy shit.
The red dress is a stark contrast to what she wore yesterday afternoon. It hugs her figure, the plunging neckline revealing the most perfect cleavage I’ve ever laid eyes on. She wears a gold chain necklace, the pendant buried between her breasts.
I close my mouth, afraid I’m gonna start salivating like a fucking dog.
Oh my god.
I saw her breasts yesterday, but that was in a photograph. I wanna see them in person. Touch them with my hands.
When she sees us, she sits up straight. Immediately, her cheeks go red.
“It’s so nice to see you again, sweetheart,” Bishop says. “We don’t even have your name.”
She hesitates, wondering if it’s best to keep it a secret or not. “Melissa.”
That could be a lie, but she suits the name. It’s the sort of name you’d give to a librarian.
“I didn’t know this was a date.” Bishop perches down next to her.
“It’s not,” she says. “Actually, I wanted to let you guys know how serious of an offence it is to write on library books.” Her eyes dagger over to Bishop. “Especially in pen.”
“Strange how that didn’t crop up in conversation last night,” Diesel says.
“Believe me.” Bishop closes in. “We’ve committed offenses far more serious than writing in books.”
I find myself shooting him a look. Is he trying to scare her off?
“Look, darling.” I reach for her hand. She doesn’t pull away. “We just wanted to extend our apologies in person. Texting over the phone only goes so far.”
“You can say that again.” Bishop waggles his eyebrows.
After staring him out for a moment, Melissa returns to me. “Look, I appreciate the apology. I was too drunk.” She shakes her head, cringing. “I don’t even know what I was saying.”
“We can pull up the texts and voice note if you’d like.” Bishop grins.
“That won’t be necessary,” I say.
Diesel just looks and listens, something he seems to enjoy doing a lot.
“I shouldn’t have added your number in the first place. It was a dare.”
“I want to spread my legs and welcome all three of you inside my pussy,” Bishop says. “That’s what you said in the voice note before you ended it. I don’t think you quite understand the effect that had on us last night.”
