Page 97 of Ruthless Obsession
She’s a shell of herself. I’m determined to help her through.
Sophie raises the knife and viciously plunges it into his chest and stomach repeatedly. Her piercing screams echo off the walls, resembling the cries of a tormented creature.
I reach for her arm long past the time he took his last breath. “It’s over, baby.”
I pull her into my lap. “We’ll get through this together.”
SOPHIE
ONE YEAR LATER
“Mavis, you can’t do that.”
“Why not?” he asks.
He’s serious too.
Losing our baby shattered me. Mavis and I created our child out of love. All the people involved in my kidnapping played a part in the loss of our child.
Their blood and screams were met with satisfaction by me and my husband. They all faced retribution at our hands.
With the help of my psychiatrist and talking to Breanna Bucks wife weekly I got through it.
Now I stare at my husband, who thinks he can put his leather cut on our three-month-old baby.
“Mavis, it’s too heavy for his little body.”
“He’s going to grow up to be strong like his dad.”
Mavis cradles Mavis Jr., in his arms on the bed beside me kissing his little cheeks.
I run a hand over our son’s fine blond hair.
“Tell mommy, you’re strong.”
I laugh at my husband’s antics.
Mavis barely left the house when we were going through the loss of our child. When he had to leave to handle business, Tonya, my parents, or my brother came over.
Mavis had Psycho create a police report that was filed by a fictitious woman saying Brunner raped her. The file is sealed so his family can’t harass the woman who of course doesn’t exist.
There’s a warrant out for his arrest. Brunner’s family thinks he’s on the run not dead. That took the heat off me and my brother’s situation. We can go back to being a family again. I even spend more time with Mom and Dad. I guess I took it out on them that I couldn’t see my brother. I know that’s fuckedup. But that’s what happened. I learned life is too short. Those people important to me will get my love and time.
Mavis and I got a second chance at having a baby. The man kept me on bed rest for the first five months. He didn’t want to risk anything happening to our little guy.
“I can’t wait to give you a sister or brother,” Mavis says to little Mavis.”
I chuckle. “Same.”
The biggest smile crosses my burly biker’s lips. “I hope we can have at least three more children.”
I lean in kissing him. “That would be wonderful.”
Mavis nips at my lips. “I love you, my little captive.”
