I take a deep breath. “I will.”

“Prez, send Squid to the bar, please.” I casually walk out the office.

Every seat at the bar is filled. I lean on the bar.

“Karla? I’ll take a beer.”

She grabs one out of the cooler and places it on the bar in front of me.

I twist off the top and chug it. “Hey, was Sophie chatting with anyone at the bar tonight?”

“Are you worried your precious woman was trying to entertain another man who isn’t you?” she chuckles.

“No, I’m not. Was she talking to anyone or not?” I snap.

She sighs dramatically. “No.”

“Do you remember what time she went to our quarters?”

“Nope,” she says, lips curling.

"Aren't you supposed to keep an eye on what's happening in the club from your spot at the bar?"

She tilts her chin up, nostrils flaring. "Funny how that little chat we had wiped my memory clean about your precious woman."

My fists curl on the bar. I want to wrap my hand around her neck and choke the life out of this bitch.

“Legos,” I call out.

“Yeah, Ruthless?”

This man always has my back. “I need Tonya’s help with Karla.”

“No problem.”

Her eyes widen. “What? No,” she cries out.

“Keep your voice down,” I hiss.

“Hey, Ruthless, are we going to the infirmary?”

“Yes,” I reply smoothly.

“Big Marjorie will join us.” Tonya smiles.

“Please, no.” Karla’s chin wobbles.

“Sounds good, Tonya.”

I nod at Squid to cover the bar.

I survey the clubhouse, taking in the scene. Bikers are conversing, eating, drinking, smoking, and relishing the entertainment my OL’ Lady was supposed to enjoy too.

Webbs appears at my side. “What can I do?”

“Find out who Jennifer was hanging with while she was here. Get the info quickly. I want you, Flock, Flex, Rogue, and Vanish to get ready to ride. Make sure you're geared up.”

“We’ll be ready.” He pats my shoulder.
