Page 8 of Ruthless Obsession
The first time, he’d done it I thought I was dreaming. But it was indeed a real moment in time.
Tears sting the backs of my eyes, but I won’t let them fall. Not here. Not now.
Was I in danger with Toby? A voice deep inside me whispers yes.
Before I can fight it, my eyes flutter closed as my body gives in.
And I’m still in the arms of my captor.

When I open my eyes again, I notice I’m on a bed. His familiar cologne invades my nostrils. Smells like Mavis, vanilla, cedar, and jasmine. His scent is intoxicating.
Sophie focus. You have to figure out how you’ll get out of this mess you’re in.
A knock sounds on the door. Then someone pushes it open. A head pops in. Long lush coils dangle over her shoulders.
“Sophie, you’re awake.” The woman smiles.
“How do you know my name?” I clip.
“Ruthless asked me to go through your things and find your identification.”
Who the hell is Ruthless?
“He’ll probably have Psycho, our computer guy, dig into your life. You know since you were living with that thief.”
My brows raise. “I wasn’t living with a thief.”
She steps into the room and waves a hand. “How are you feeling?”
My eyes move over her honey brown skin. She has to be in her late thirties. Around the same height as me five -six or a little taller. But she’s beautiful. I mean like runway model gorgeous.
“You’ve driven our Ruthless mad. I’d never seen him behave this way over a woman.”
I guess Ruthless is Mavis.
I tsk. “I assure you?”
“Tonya,” she replies. “Legos’ OL’ Lady.”
“He’s got a thing for my boyfriend, Toby. Ex boyfriend,” I mutter.
“I’m just collateral damage.”
I shake my head. “Wait, Legos?”
“His real name is Lincoln. But they call him Legos because he likes to stack bodies like Legos.”
What the fuck? Great Mavis left me with a bunch of killers.
My gaze moves over her leather cut, t-shirt, jeans, and boots.
She pulls a Glock from the small of her back. “I’m sure you have to go to the bathroom. I’m going to help you do that. If you make one wrong move, well, you’ll be badly wounded. Can’t kill you because Ruthless would lose it.”
Bile rises in my throat. And I nod.
She frees me from my zip ties and I massage my wrists as I step out the door. My eyes move over the clubhouse. Dull wooden floors that could use a good shine. Black painted walls. The expansive wooden bar is fully stocked with liquor. There’s a big burly guy pouring drinks for several bikers. I notice some other guys playing poker to the right. It just happens to be my favorite game. I smile at the memory when I played poker at my brother’s clubhouse.
