“Well, she’s worth it,” I confirm.
Webbs stretches out on the sofa. “He likes her because she’s not afraid of the big burly biker.”
Laughter fills the room.
I run a hand over my hair. “Yeah, I love the fight in her.”
I try not to let my thoughts linger too long on her otherwise, I’ll walk around hard as steel. And I can’t get to her again until later tonight.
“I’m hitting the shower,” I say, backing out.
That’s when Legos walks in with a six-pack and a nod. “Everything’s good at the clubhouse.”
That’s his way of saying Sophie’s safe. The pressure in my chest lets up.
“Appreciate it,” I nod back.
“You guys go hangout in the living room. I’ll be down in a few.”
Upstairs, a crooked smile pulls at my lips as I grab Sophie’s bra off the banister. She said she was taking her clothes to the guest room. I told her don’t fucking think about it. I snatched thebra from her hand and flung it into the hallway, and it landed on the banister.
I can’t wait to bring down that dirty fuck, Toby, so I can focus on knocking up my OL’ Lady.

Sharlenne meets me at the back door of Cruella’s. I step inside.
“You and Belle are doing a great job. I’ve taken care of you both. Check your account.” I shake her hand placing two grand in her palm.
“You two turn up the heat with my friend Jethro in VIP. Don’t worry, he’ll find you ladies.”
She discreetly slips the bills into her sparkly silver purse. “Got it, Mavis.”
Sharlenne’s friend Sharon had been a big help. She hates what’s going on in the dungeon. And would like to see it shut down.
There’s a knock at the back door. I pull it open and crack a grin. “Buck. Good to see you again.” I pull him into a firm bro hug.
Jackson met Buck’s older brother, Beckett, back in college—Beckett’s the president of Neto, a powerful secret society. Out of the five brothers, Jackson grew especially close with Buck and Brady. I met them during one of my visits to see my cousin on campus and we’ve stayed in touch since.
Neto’s reach is wide. They’re connected to Jacob Latters, the A-list actor, and his wife Samantha. Jacob’s cousin Brandon is married to a woman who was molested by her stepfather—who, along with his friend, was running a pedo ring. Brandon made it his mission to destroy them all.
Buck has his own story. He rescued a woman from a trafficking ring and later married her. That mission forged a deeper alliance. Buck, his brothers, Brandon, and Jacob pooled their wealth and power to take down trafficking networks.
That’s why Buck’s here tonight. His team is ready to dismantle the next operation with our help.
“Good to see you too, Mavis.” Buck flashes a grin. He’s built like a linebacker—same height as me. The tailored dark suit he’s wearing tonight screams wealth, just like mine. Which is what we need to draw attention in this environment.
That smug look he’s always worn is still there, but married life might’ve knocked a little edge off him.
Sharlenne hands us each a red mask and a matching ticket, about the size of a small envelope with a tiny barcode stamped on it.
“Wave both tickets in front of the pad at the twin elevators. That’s how you access the lower level,” she explains. “There’ll be a bouncer waiting when you get off. He’ll point you toward the rooms.”
We nod and thank her, then head toward the elevators.
“En route,” Buck says, clearly talking into an earpiece.
He asks over the music, glancing at me. “You got your people in place?”
