“Oh, I know. We’ve been doing that for the past week, but this is more formal. Do you not want to date me?” She gave me a mock pouty lip and squinted puppy-dog eyes look.
“You know I do, Jade.” I rolled my eyes at her.
“There’s that attitude again. I still need to punish you for when you gave it to me at the grocery store.” I’m not sure what Jade had in mind, but based on the chills her statement yet again gave me, I was sure I’d like it.
“What are you going to do, spank me?” I immediately regretted my words, remembering how she had spanked me last night. I’d never had someone do that to me, and I definitely didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. She was looking at me with a full-on grin, and I already knew she’d make me eat my words.
Pulling out the chair across from me, she stepped in front of it and placed both hands on the table, leaning forward until she was hoveringover me. “Maybe I will. Maybe I’ll tie you to my bed and smack that pretty ass of yours until you scream for me to stop.” I had to stop eating so that I wouldn’t choke. Why did that turn me on so much?
Taking her seat, she scooted her chair up and took a sip of her wine.
“You okay, princess?” Jade asked, smirking at me as I resumed eating.
“I’m fine, and no, you will not be doing that.” She raised her eyebrow at me and gave me one of her intense stares that took my breath away.
“We’ll see about that.”
Chapter 17
Icleaned up the kitchen while Jade went and got comfy on the couch. It was the least I could do since she bought me dinner, and more than that, I needed a moment to collect myself. The whole spanking conversation had made me a little hot and bothered. I couldn’t help imagining her doing exactly that, and each time a fresh wave of desire rolled through me.
Joining her on the couch, we settled into our normal routine of cuddling close to one another and sharing the blanket. She was reading her diary and skipping a few pages.
“Hey, I thought you said you were going to share all of it,” I teased, trying to look over her shoulder and see what she was reading.
“I mean, I will. I’m just trying to find something interesting to show you. So far, it’s been random stories about school and stuff.” That didn’t sound interesting, but I wanted to know more about her, boring or not.
“May I look at it?” I elbowed her.
She handed it over, and I took in the worn pages filled with purple ink. It was very innocent and girly-looking. It made my heart swell. Skimming, I found a page titled “Christmas list” and then one titled “Why me?” It was about how she’d tripped in front of her homeroom class when she was walking up to write something on the board. Her classmates had laughed at her, and she’d skinned her knee and had to walk around with a bloodstain on her khakis for the rest of the day.
“This one is so sad,” I said, holding back a sympathetic laugh.
“Sure sounds like you think so,” she teased, scooting in closer to me and kissing my ear. I tingled from that simple touch and tried to refocus on the story.
“No, no, I honestly think it’s sad. It’s just so innocent. Here I was expecting it to be full of dirty things since you stated you were dirty-minded from such a young age. Just surprised me to see something so different.”
“Yeah, yeah.” She took the diary from me gently and then closed it, tossing it to the other end of the couch. Turning to give her a kiss on the cheek, I tried to hold back my snickering. I couldn’t get enough of her.
I’d wanted to ask her some more questions about her relationship with Jana. Like when specifically she had tried to reach out to her, but I just couldn’t bring myself to. At least not tonight. I was too caught up in thoughts of her and what might happen when we went to our now shared bedroom together. Her trailing her fingers through my hair wasn’t helping, nor was the toned skin my arms held against me, her woodsy amber scent deep in my nose.
“I’m tired,” Jade announced after about half an hour. We’d started another movie, one she picked this time, and had been cuddling peacefully.
“You don’t want to finish your movie?” I asked, unsure why I was prolonging exactly what I wanted to happen. Maybe I just didn’t want to seem too eager.
“We can finish it tomorrow.”
With that, she stood and grabbed my hand, forcing me to follow her out of the living room and up the stairs. When we got to her room, I brushed my teeth and my hair, trying to calm my nerves that were still not being my friends. Walking back into her room, she was sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at her phone. Her gaze landed on my face, and she stood, meeting me halfway.
“I like to sleep naked; is that alright?” I nodded, feeling slightly irritated by her words. She was intentionally trying to rile me up, and I did not need that at the moment.
Without further ado, she stepped out of her clothes quickly, leaving me breathless. Of course I’d seen her naked already, but somehow the memory couldn’t compare with the beauty before me.
“Do you sleep naked, Libby? If not, maybe you should try it. It’s just so comfortable.” She emphasized the last word as if to toy with me. I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to push her or kiss her.
Fine, if she wanted to play, I could too. I shook my long hair free of the ponytail it was in before sliding my top off. I unfastened my bra, gliding it up until my breasts fell out with a pop. Then, I took my time skating my pants down my legs. Curling my thumbs under both sides of my panties, I pulled them up in a V before sliding them down slowly. Then, I walked around her and got under the covers.
“Night,” I said in an icy voice.
