She glanced at my lips.
I glanced at hers.
We were talking without words.
It was amazing.
I wondered if this was what they called the unspoken language of—
Alex cleared his throat. “Iknewyou two were an item. Look, I’m going to go get something to eat. It was nice meeting you, Ruth.”
I totally forgot he was sitting there.
Judging by the pink color on Ruth’s face, I’m guessing she had forgotten as well. “Nice meeting you too, Alex.”
After he walked away, I couldn’t help laughing.
Ruth covered her face with her hands, laughing with me.
“What am I going to do with you, Ruth?” I surprisingly asked.
She stood, grabbed the plate from my hands, and tossed it in the garbage. “I have just the idea. Take off your clothes.”
“Pardon me?”

Ruth stood there waiting for me in her sexy black bikini.
I swallowed hard, watching her.
There was that confidence of hers that was my kryptonite.
She crossed her arms. “I can go get Jay to swim with me, if you’re not interested.”
I jumped up, practically ripping my shirt off, and flinging it into the air.
It landed on top of one of the umbrellas.
Ruth smirked. “That’s what I thought.”

Men were so predictable.
The truth was, I just wanted to spend time with Nick.
I didn’t care about those men he was introducing me to.
I cared about Nick.
And even though I didn’t have a clue of how this could possibly work out between us, I wanted to explore the prospect of it.
Screw the online dating.
