“After this day, your souls will be merged,” he said. “Your life forces will be joined. You will truly be one. If you wish to continue, speak your vows. And then drink.”
“Can I go first?” Gray asked, bouncing on his heels. I nodded, my heart clenching. He was too precious. “Okay. So.” He grabbed both my hands. “The first time I met you, you were getting your butt kicked by a maniacal thingy.”
“Manananggal,” I said, unable to fight a smile.
“Yeah, that demon lady. Anyway. There you were, a human getting his butt kicked, but you kept fighting her. I thought you were so brave. I still do. Every day since then, every moment by your side, I’ve fallen deeper in love with you. I learned about myself too. And that’s saying a lot since I’m, like, really old. You taught me it’s okay to be me. I can like cute thingsandkick demon butt. As for your bravery? You gave some of that to me during the battle. We wouldn’t be standing here right now if not for you.” He stepped closer, those brown eyes I loved so much big and watery. “I love when you take naps with me. I love when you call me angel. Most of all, I love your heart. I can’t wait to spend forever with you, Mason Hawk.”
With my eyes burning and my face hot, I cleared my throat. “You talk about my bravery, but it’s you who gives me strength. I was broken when you found me. More than that, I was empty. Numb. You woke me up, Gray. You loved me when I didn’t deserve it. You loved me when I fucked up. I don’t know how I got so lucky. Because standing here with you, I’m right where I want to be. I’m so in love with you.”
Crocodile tears pooled in his eyes. “Nap buddies forever?”
Damn it. A tear slipped free as I chuckled. “Yeah. Nap buddies forever.”
“Can we kiss now?”
“Wine first,” Alastair said, handing him the goblet.
Gray took a drink before giving it to me. I drank it down, surprised by the taste. It was a nice mix of bitter and sweet, not too dry either. As the liquid went down my throat, my body warmed—and my cock stirred.
“Come here.” Gray threw his arms around my neck and kissed me. He then wrapped his legs around my hips, smiling against my mouth as he rubbed against my crotch. “You’re already hard for me.”
“That’s what I call a show,” Bellamy said. “You two should just complete the ceremony right there.”
“Nuh-uh.” Gray glared at him. “Mason’s sexy body is for my eyes only.” He grinned at me. “Take me to bed.”
Chapter Twenty-One
Gray
Life was weird sometimes.
I used to spend my days napping and hooking up with random guys when I got too lonely. I had been sad and didn’t even realize it. Now, I was being carried up the stairs in the arms of the man I’d fallen madly in love with. A man who loved me too—who accepted all of me.
My husband.
I giggled as he burst into my Sleepy Den—well, it was ours now—and threw me on the bed. He hovered over me, dipping his face to my neck. I sighed and tilted my head back as he kissed my jaw, undoing the buttons on my shirt.
Suddenly, he stopped.
“Oh my god, Gray.” Mason hung his head on my chest, his body rumbling with a laugh. “You did not.”
“Do what?”
“Don’t play cute with me. You know.”
Knowingexactlywhat he was referring to, I glanced over at the nightstand and giggled again. “Dino-Pete wanted to dress up for our special day too.”
“You put a bow tie on him. Amatchingbow tie.”
“I couldn’t find him a shirt.”
Mason tickled me. I squealed and wiggled beneath him. And then his lips were back on mine. The binding magic in the wine made me hot all over, inside and out. I wanted to tear my clothes off and impale myself on his cock. It was the only thing that could quench my thirst—our naked bodies merging just like our souls.
The world was still trying to heal from the monster attacks. My dad wanted Lucifer’s sword so Asa could bring humanity to its knees, and I knew he was pissed that I’d wounded Asa and stole said sword. The fight was far from over. More trouble awaited us on the horizon. But whatever happened tomorrow would happen.
For today? I was going to make love to my husband and forget about everything else.
Mason took his time prepping me. He kissed my belly as he fingered my ass, starting with one, then moving up to three. The magic swirling in my veins cried out for him. As he shuddered and slid back up my body, lining up his cock, I knew he felt the same. The feeling was overwhelming and impossible to fight.
