British invasion!

Screaming fans greet Go Tos as U.S. tour kicks off

In scenes mirroring the Beatles’ arrival in the U.S. in 1964, British pop stars the Go Tos landed at New York’s JFK International Airport on Tuesday to scenes of pandemonium.

An estimated 6,000 of the boy band’s American fans crowded the airport arrivals hall to await “the G2 five.” The swarm of mostly teenage girls quickly overwhelmed JFK’s seemingly unprepared security operation. Three girls fainted, and paramedics struggled to reach them.

The band’s debut album, “Welcome to the Circus,” has been a global smash hit, with five singles reaching number one in the U.S. Their latest single, “Why Don’t You Call?,” has been number one in the U.S. for six weeks.

The U.S. leg of the Welcome to the Circus Tour gets underway at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Thursday night…
