Are you the U.K.’s next pop superstar?

Filming for the new season of “Make Me a Pop Star,” the hit reality TV show that made Jocasta Rose and Boy Treble household names, begins in Colchester this weekend.

Thousands of hopefuls from across Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire are expected to descend on the Lion Walk Shopping Centre on Saturday to audition in front of celebrity judges Felicity Quant, Robbie Johnswagger and Johanna Thorsdóttir.

Quant told the Chronicle: “As a long-time resident of Suffolk myself I’m well aware of the incredible musical talent we have here in East Anglia. I can’t wait to see what our contestants have in store for us and to make their dreams of pop stardom come true.”

Jocasta Rose, who won the first season of “Make Me a Pop Star” six years ago, is currently topping the U.K. music charts with her song “Say It to My Face.” Last year she was the country’s top-earning musical act—helping Quant’s label, Totally Records, become the U.K.’s biggest domestically owned record company.

Registrations for the “Make Me a Pop Star” auditions open at 8 a.m. on Saturday at Shop 9 (the old WHSmith) in the Lion Walk Shopping Centre, Colchester.
