I ignored him, turning my attention back to Jensen. “I’ll talk to him.”
“Pretty sure his phone’s off. There’s no way in hell that Karen will let you in the door either.”
“She doesn’t have to let me in, but I’ll get in one way or another,” I said sweetly, and he huffed out a laugh as he dropped a kiss to my forehead.
“Don’t hurt her. He’d never forgive you. What did you want to talk about?”
“We can’t talk about it here near the staff,” I said quietly, the humor falling from his face.
“That bad?”
“Depends on your perspective of it,” Skeeter said absently as he stood. “Go talk in your room. I need to call and check in with D.”
“Tell him I said hi,” I answered, making him mutter under his breath as he left the room.
“You know, you don’t have to tell anyone,” Caden said as he drained his coffee, and Tyler raised an eyebrow.
“Seriously? I think she does.”
“Wait,” Jensen snapped, glaring at us all. “Does everyone else know?”
I glanced at Caden and he shrugged. “Ty was here last night.”
“So you told him everything? I doubt it,” I mumbled, stumbling as he yanked me against him, my panties dampening as he grabbed my throat firmly.
“He knows I fucked your emotions back into place, yes.”
“Jesus Christ, what the fuck have I missed? I’m missing multiple chapters. I didn’t even know you two were talking again,” Jensen said in disbelief.
“It’s a long story. One I’ll tell you in my room,” I replied, not fighting Caden’s hold as he dropped a kiss to my lips before releasing me.
The staff started cleaning up from breakfast, so I motioned for the guys to follow me upstairs, not wanting anyone to overhear us.
How did I explain that I’d committed murder twice? And that it wasn’t bothering me this time?
When we were shut in my room and I remained silent, Caden decided to drop the bomb on everyone. “My dad’s dead.”
“What the fuck?” Jensen asked slowly. “What happened?”
I blew out a breath and straightened my shoulders. Skeeter had been right after I’d killed Liam, I needed to push that shit down and move on.
I’d killed the man who’d haunted my dreams and ruined my childhood, so I should wear that shit like a badge of honor.
“Because I killed him last night.”
“Why? Did that piece of shit touch you again?” Jensen spat, pacing the room like a caged animal. “Where did you bury him? We need help to cover this up. Why didn’t you call?”
“You were busy last night,” Caden pointed out, crossing his arms. “It’s handled. Slash practically kidnapped her and locked her in a room with the prick. I didn’t see it, but Skeet said it was pretty bad. He called me to pick her up and bring her home. She was covered in blood and in shock, but she wasn’t hurt.”
“This is Slash’s fault?” Jensen bit out, turning to Tyler. “That asshole took it too far, man. Stop buying our fucking drugs from him. We don’t want anything to do with him and his crew if they’re going to do shit like that to Rory.”
“Where do you think we should go then? Ask the Devils? Buddy up to the Reapers? Maybe risk getting a bad batch from the Demons? I trust Slash’s quality over anyone's," Tyler argued, motioning to me. “I’ll talk to him. There has to be a reason why he did it. Maybe he’s testing her?”
“You’re fucking delusional! He’s not your friend, dumbass!”
“We understand each other.”
“He understands you have money and throw good parties. It’s the only reason he even gives you the time of day. If Skeet can’t get him to back off, then you have no hope,” Jensen scoffed.
