“Put your jealousy away. She was on your dick this morning, caveman. I don’t think you need to worry about Holloway’s opinion on what she means to him,” Slash grunted, sliding his eyes to Tyler. “You’d better tell me what happened, or I’m going to start putting bullets in Josie’s fancy house, then her pain in the ass kid.”
Tyler gave me a dirty look, and for a second, I thought he was going to let Slash take a fucking shot at me.
Then, he finally spoke. “We honestly don’t know anything. Rory got home and locked herself in her bedroom, wouldn’t let Caden in, and said she was just having a shower. Then something must have happened because she let Lukas in and she was crying. Caden tried to find out what was wrong, but Lukas threatened to beat him up if he didn’t get out. They’ve been in her room ever since. She was asleep when Jensen left.”
“So she opened up to Lukas?”
“I don’t know. I haven’t been up there. Whatever she saw, she won’t tell the cops. Don’t hurt her,” Tyler pleaded, and Slash snorted.
“I know she won’t tell the cops. I’m worried about her telling you entitled rich pricks. This is Psychos business, and you don’t need to know a thing about it. She’s not hurt, she’s fine.”
“She’s not fucking fine, asshole. She’s a goddamn mess!” I snapped, the temptation to punch him rising as Slash shoved me back. His hand tightly gripped the back of my neck as he slammed my cheek down on the counter top.
“Then you want to hope she keeps it together, or the only person going down is her. This is why we don’t let women into a man’s world, they’re not cut out for it. You want to fight me, Caden? Feel free to try, but I’ll be making you dig your own fucking grave first because I don’t have time for your tantrums, let alone cleanup duty.” His fingers tightened even more as he leaned lower, his voice dropping. “You’re all brainwashed by her bullshit. Look at you all risking your lives for her. Do you really think she’d have your back if it came down to you or her?”
Skeeter stood back with his arms crossed, but his eyes were burning into Slash, not me. He looked like he disagreed with his boss, which just intrigued me more.
What the fuck had she done for them?
“What’s going on?” Lukas asked from the hallway, and Slash released me to face him, his eyes narrowing on Rory, who stood beside him. Jealousy washed over me as my gaze dropped to his arm that was wound around her back, keeping her close as he studied us.
“What the fuck did she tell you?” Slash demanded, stepping closer and seeming surprised when Lukas moved in front of her to keep her safe from him. “What are you going to do, Lukas? I could put a bullet through your skull before you even threw a punch.”
“She didn’t tell me anything, but I know. Not a lot would rattle her like this,” he stated, not flinching when Slash became nose-to-nose with him.
“Move.”
“Fucking make me.”
“Time-out, guys,” Tyler said nervously, but Skeeter gave him a cruel smirk.
“I say let them go for it. I want to see what the little shit can do.”
“Don’t,” Rory growled, getting between them and shoving Slash back.
Well, she tried. The big fucker barely budged.
His fingers wrapped around her throat, almost hauling her off the damn ground as he yanked her closer. All the amusement left Skeeter’s face, but he stayed quiet.
“What did I tell you?” Slash bit out, not releasing her as her nails dug into his hand to try and pry it off her. “You know what we do to people who talk?”
“Cut out their tongues,” she rasped, trying to kick him and missing, earning a flat look from him in return.
“If you know what we do, why would you risk it? Pretty sure Skeet won’t give a shit about you anymore if you can’t lick his shaft before bed.”
He released her, but she didn’t move away from him as she rubbed her throat with annoyance.
“I didn’t tell him. You need a mint, your breath stinks.”
“Your pussy stinks,” he deadpanned, the corners of her mouth curving into a smile.
“Blame your right-hand man for fucking up my PH levels. He can’t seem to leave me alone.”
He leaned down, his nose practically against hers. “You can laugh about it now, but he’ll toss you aside soon enough. He’ll eventually destroy it and get bored.”
“Can you two not have a pissing contest right now?” I asked dryly, both of them glancing over at me. “What the fuck went down last night?”
Rory’s eyes flicked to Skeeter, who gave her a tiny shake of the head, telling her not to say anything, but Slash scoffed, shoving her back and almost making her land on her ass.
