I called Caden back and he answered after the first ring. “Did you find her?”
“No, but I think I know where she is. Can you meet me? You might need to take her home if I’m right,” I gritted out, putting my foot down harder. If he’d hurt her, best friend or not, I was going to fucking kill him.
“Tell me where and I’ll be there.”
Telling Caden our secrets wasn’t something I wanted to do, but if Slash had her there, chances were high I’d need to get her out and deal with him. I couldn’t do both, and I didn’t want Rory witnessing me beating his face in.
She knew I was a monster, but that didn’t mean I liked her seeing me lose it, especially if he’d done something to her and left her fucking traumatized.
“You know the abandoned clinic in Ashburn? We own it. Diesel said Slash mentioned going to storage, which is what we call it in public,” I explained, making him pause before speaking.
“What do you actually call it?”
“The slaughterhouse. It’s where we get information out of people and handle messy business sometimes. If you tell anyone about this, you’ll end up there yourself. Understand? I’m trusting you with this for her.”
“He took her to a fucking?—”
“Just meet me there, Holloway, and don’t tell anyone where you’re going,” I scowled before hanging up, hoping I’d beat him there so I could figure out what the fuck we were walking in on first. Hopefully, I could get Rory out and he wouldn’t have to step foot inside.
My stomach twisted with worry and anger as I finally arrived and found Slash’s Mustang parked outside, not bothering to hide my arrival as I stalked inside with my gun raised, the door smacking against the wall loudly.
“Where the fuck is she, Slash?” I called down the dark hallway, taking my time as my eyes adjusted to the shitty lighting in here. “I swear to God?—”
“Just proving a point,” he answered almost brightly as I found him leaning against the wall by the door to the room we usually beat people to death in. Sound didn’t travel far from in there, so it was the perfect place for us to torture people.
It was practically sound proof.
“What point?” I demanded, not lowering my gun as I stepped closer to reach for the handle.
“She’s weak. Look at what she’s done to you, man. All this stress over one fucking girl. What if the Kings took her? They’d rape and torture her for months maybe. This is how you act after less than a few hours?” he scoffed as I yanked open the door, both of us going silent as we took in the scene.
At first, I thought Rory was bleeding out when I saw all the blood, but then I realized there was a body beside her as she sat on the ground staring at it, her hand shaking as she held her knife tightly in her fingers.
“Who the fuck is that?” I asked quietly, the body too sliced up to tell.
Slash didn’t respond as he stepped into the room, letting out a low whistle. “Damn, Killer. You really let him have it, didn’t you?”
I moved towards her, not getting too close when I realized she was zoned out. She could start swinging the second she snapped out of whatever trance she was in.
“Baby girl?” My eyes dropped down her body and I paused when I noticed that her shirt was torn in multiple places and her pants were pulled down slightly. “Slash, who the fuck is that on the floor? What did you do?”
“This?” he answered, kicking the dead guy with his shoe. “Is Tristan Holloway.”
“You locked her in a room with her rapist?” I hissed, not giving a fuck about getting stabbed as I leaned down to cup Rory’s bloodied cheek. “Aurora? C’mon, let’s get you home.”
Her eyes flicked up to mine as she seemed to finally notice me, the grip on her knife loosening. “Skeet?”
“I’ve got you. Can you stand?”
She nodded and blinked as she looked around the room in a daze, letting me help her to her feet and fix her pants as sheturned her attention to Slash. “Fuck you, you piece of fucking shit.”
“You’ll either prove me wrong and you can handle this life, or prove me right when you run,” he answered lazily, but I could see the tiniest flicker of lust in his eyes.
The sick bastard probably had a hard-on right now.
If I wasn’t so damn worried about what had actually happened in this room, I would’ve too. She’d made an absolute mess of Tristan, the blood all over her like an avenging grim reaper.
“Hello?” Caden called as I heard him open the main door, and Slash’s eyes narrowed on me instantly.
