After a second of hesitation, Jensen got back into bed on my other side and wrapped himself around me from behind as I snuggled into Lukas, and I didn’t miss the way Lukas relaxed as Jensen’s arm draped over both of us.
None of us spoke for the rest of the night, but all three of us seemed to get a decent sleep at least.
CHAPTER EIGHT
RORY
We ended up spending the weekend together, and thankfully they hadn’t seemed to have told Caden or Tyler about it since they hadn’t shown up.
I slept between them each night, and no one brought up what had gone down between us all on Friday night. We just hung out, slept, and repeated.
Josie had called to check in, being completely okay with me staying out since I kept in contact.
Breakfast on Monday morning felt almost normal too. Lukas and Jensen sat at the table with me, shoveling food into their mouths while I drank coffee. They were discussing a party, and I found myself zoning out, my fingers moving back and forth over the back of my neck where the needle had been.
I needed to figure out who that asshole was and ask him what the fuck he’d injected me with. Had I had an episode with hallucinations? Did it even happen?
I pressed a little harder and my skin felt tender, confirming it was real.
“Are you okay?” Lukas asked, drawing my attention and finding both of them watching me.
“I’m fine.”
“So you’re coming to school?”
“Doubtful,” I scoffed, finishing my coffee and placing the cup on the table in front of me. “I’ll do the work at home. I’m only a little bit behind.”
I was super behind, and I was surprised the school hadn’t expelled me for it.
“Want us to stay with you?” Jensen offered, but I shook my head.
“I’ll get more done if I’m alone. If you guys don’t show up at school, Holloway and Ty will only come looking for you.”
Jensen didn’t seem convinced, but Lukas nodded. “Alright. Call us if you need company.”
I smiled as he got to his feet and moved towards me, dropping a kiss on my lips. “Stay out of trouble. I love you.”
Warmth filled me, and I fought not to swoon. It was weird hearing him say it, but it made me feel really good too.
“I love you too,” I murmured, his face lighting up with a huge smile back. “I’ll talk to you later. I should go.”
I thought Jensen was going to kiss the shit out of me too, but he raked his fingers through my hair affectionately. “If you need somewhere to hide, come back here. You’ll be let in. My house will always be yours too.”
“Softie,” I teased, getting to my feet and hesitating before giving him a hug. “Thanks for letting me stay all weekend.”
“Any time. I love you.”
“You guys are in a good mood this morning,” I chuckled lightly, and he winked.
“Can you blame us? But I’m not dancing around my feelings anymore. I’ll tell you every fucking day until you believe me.”
Part of me wanted to say I loved him back, but I needed a little more time. I’d already taken that step with Lukas, and taking it again was too much for me to handle right now.
“I’ll talk to you later,” I promised, standing on tiptoe to give him a quick kiss before I could change my mind, then I grabbed my things and left to avoid making them late for school.
I’d intended on heading home, but the thought of being alone in the house freaked me out a little. Skeeter wasn’t at his house, and Mule wasn’t answering my texts to hang out, so I found myself driving to the Shed.
If Skeeter’s McLaren wasn’t there, I’d leave.
