Damn if he wasn’t the hottest fucking male in the room. My entire body responded to him. Blood heated in my veins, and warmth pooled in my stomach. My cock throbbed. Each time I saw him, my attraction to him strengthened. I didn’t understand it.
“Can I buy you a drink?” I motioned to the glass the bartender had just slid across to me.
“I can buy my own drinks. But thanks.” Kyo smirked and leaned across the counter, tight ass jutting out and a sexy little dip in his lower back. He ordered an ambrosia cherry vodka and handed over his card. “I’ll get his too.” He nodded to me.
“Like hell you will.”
“What are you going to do to stop me?” Kyo straightened his stance and stepped closer, hand trailing down my shirt before falling away. His touch sent tingles along my skin.
My gaze fell to his lips before slowly lifting again. The temperature had skyrocketed in a matter of seconds. Did he feel the same urge as me? One that screamed for me to tear off his clothes and fuck him senseless?
“I guess I’ll let you pay.” I snatched hold of his lean waist and drew him even closer. I couldn’t help it. I needed to touch him. “Just this once.”
Kyo brought his cheek to mine and whispered, “You reek of sex.”
Yeah, I might’ve fucked Jasper earlier before hitting the dance floor. A desperate attempt to escape and feel something other than misery. The sex had sucked though. I hadn’t been into it at all. My orgasm had been pitiful at best. My head was too fucked-up.
“I’m a naughty boy. What can I say?”
Kyo slid his hand to the back of my hair and yanked my head back. I peered at him through hooded lids, my lips parting as my breathing kicked up a notch. Hell, if he wanted to dominate me, to fuck me so good I’d feel him for days to come, I was more than ready. I craved it. With one look, one touch, he made me feel more than I had in a long time.
But then he pulled away.
Confused, I watched him grab his drink and face the dance floor. Not giving me another glance.
“What the hell was that?”
“What was what?” he asked, moving his orange eyes back to me. A smirk formed at the corner of his mouth.
“You’re an ass.”
“Am I? Hmm. Interesting.” Kyo took a drink, and I was fixated on the way his Adam’s apple bobbed in his throat as he swallowed.
My teeth tingled. I wanted to sink them into his neck while being buried balls-deep in him. Crazy how he had that effect on me when no one else did.
“So you Nephilim guys really drink blood, huh?” Kyo asked, returning his gaze to me.
“What?” Could he read minds? What the actual fuck?
“Your drink,” he said. “I smell blood.”
“Oh.” I released a short breath. “Yeah. We drink blood sometimes. We don’t need it to survive. It’s more like a treat for us. Like how a human craves pizza or ice cream, we crave blood.”
“Not sure I understand the reason behind it.”
“You want me to give you a history lesson, little dragon?” I tucked his hair behind his ear. It was soft. Silky.
“Believe me. There’s nothing little about me, Red.” Kyo held eye contact with me over the rim of his glass as he took another drink.
“The Fallen were cursed after their betrayal. Ancient texts refer to them as flesh eaters and blood drinkers,” I said before sipping my own drink. I loved how the blood trickled down my throat with each swallow. “And Nephilim are, obviously, the offspring of fallen angels. We have the craving for blood, but not the necessity for it. Blood drinking is a mark of the damned, much the same with vampires.” I clinked my glass with his. “And there you have it. Blood Drinking History 101.”
Kyo snorted. “You’re an idiot.”
“Hey, you don’t know me well enough to be calling me names.”
“Says the guy who called me an ass not even five minutes ago.”
I fought a smile. “Well, youwerebeing an ass. You can’t just yank on my hair and eye-fuck me the way you did and then pretend like I don’t exist.”
