Trevor
S ilently scolding myself for how many times I've checked my phone and the clock, I sigh. This is dragging on. In reality it's been like thirty minutes.
The woman who must read our body language pretty well has been running through the documents fast, but it doesn't help that there's an entire fucking stack of papers and we're only a third of the way through.
At the time, having all four of us own the house felt right, like nobody would be left out. Right now, though, I wish one of us would have declined the idea from the beginning.
Ugh .
I made this lady very aware that I would have my phone handy in case of an emergency, to which she understood.
Although, I got the impression she thinks I have a kid and need to be available.
Whatever, she can think what she wants. Our relationship will make heads turn, but they don't matter. What matters is Nina. Always Nina.

Chills race up the back of my neck, and if I've learned anything from befriending Henry, it's to listen to my instincts. My right knee pops as I stand, immediately reacting to the feeling that something is wrong.
Just as I snatch my phone from the table, its shrill ringtone blares through the conference room.
Henry jumps up like he was ready too. "Who's that?"
"Will," I rasp. "It's Will!" I'm already running out the door as I swipe accept on the call. I vaguely hear Kai tell the agent that we'll be in touch.
Unable to leash my emotions, I bellow into the phone, "WILL?"
"SHE'S GONE!" Will shouts back, heavily breathing at the same time. "Fucking VANISHED!"
"FUCK!" My feet twist and wrap around themselves, sending me slamming into the concrete. My slacks rip open and fire scalds my knees. I have half a second to curse out my skinned knees before reality slips past the pain and sucks the warmth from my soul.
Yanked from the ground by my cousin, I scramble to regain my footing as we sprint after Kai and Henry who seems to have grabbed my phone. He's yelling, but my ears have begun to ring.
Or maybe I can hear my girl screaming...
