Kai studies my face for a moment. "Because our dynamic is changing, and I just want to make sure we will always come together to connect too. Life will only get busier with this new relationship and I don't ever want to put us on the back burner."

"Then we'll keep talking, my love," I promise. "Still plan dates and be mindful of the relationship we have built before our family grew. Okay?"

A smile tugs his lips up, helping me relax once again. "Okay, baby. Thank you."

"Love you," I murmur because I have nothing else to say and I can't go wrong with an expression of love.
