I take her hand and pull her onto my lap.

“Your pledge of loyalty and obedience wasn’t just a bunch ofwords, sweetheart.”

“I know.It just feels weird.”

“You’ll get used to it.Plus, it’s not like I’m going toorder you to do anything bad.”

“I know that, too.I just got used to being my own boss, andnow….”

“It’s not so bad.I do more than just boss people around.I’m responsible for your safety and well-being.I will provide for you, takecare of you, love you.”

She slides her hands around my shoulders and gazes into myeyes lovingly.

“That’s what I want, the last one.”

“And that’s what you’ll get.”I kiss her softly and ignorethe twitch in my pants.“Up.”

“I’m going to make you breakfast.”

“You don’t have to.”

“I want to.Please.”

“Okay.I’ll be down in a few minutes.”

I hum to myself as I put his breakfast together—an egg,bacon, and cheese bagel.The noise outside reminds me of my earlier surprise.Ican’t wait for it to be completed.I still can’t believe he’s building me amotherfucking fountain!

By the time he walks in, I’ve wrapped his breakfast andplaced it in a brown paper bag, and I’m pouring coffee into his travel mug.

“I gotta run.”He grabs the bag and the mug, plants a chastekiss on my cheek, and turns away.“Thanks, sweetheart.I’ll see you later.”

“I’ll walk you out.”

I slip my hand in his, and he gives my fingers a littlesqueeze.When he steps through the door, he bars me from following him out.

“In that outfit, that’s as far as you go.”

He’s right; therearea bunch of strange men in thefront yard, and they’re already shooting curious glances our way.One of themsnickers.I know they all heard our little session in the office.

He leans in, giving me a quick one on the lips.That won’tdo at all.As he pulls away, I throw my arms around his neck and press my lipsto his.

“I’m late,” he mumbles.

“You’re the boss… and another minute won’t matter.”

I slide my tongue along his bottom lip.A growl emanatesfrom his throat, and he catches my tongue between his teeth.

“Minx.I have to go.”
