Olivia
Eighteen months later
Chloe stumbles around on the beach with her little pail, doing her best to get to the water without me. She’s wearing a cute little pink two-piece.
I chase along after her, but I’m too slow, and Damien sweeps her up in his arms.
“Chloe,” he sings. “Are you going in the water?”
She jumps around excitedly, babbling, and he laughs. “Tell me all about it.”
Her green-blue eyes just like his, sparkle with mirth and mischief.
She’s almost a year and a half old, and we’re on vacation in the Balkans.
Dominic kept his promise about staying, but he needs these escapes every once in a while to remind himself he’s a rolling stone, I guess.
A rolling stone with a family.
Things are different now, and he’s acted accordingly. They all have.
Dominic has stuck in one place. Sebastian has stopped womanizing. Damien hasn’t been a workaholic. Everything’s perfect.
Sebastian grins at me, wearing his tight black trunks and nothing else, and I bite my lip, heat rushing through me at the sight of my three shirtless men.
Damien with his wide shoulders and muscles and a couple of tattoos, gotten when he was young and stupid. Dominic with his long, lanky frame, muscles rippling.
Gretchen, my new best friend and my nanny on this trip, puts down her drink.
“Sounds like I’m going to be on Chloe duty tonight.”
“Just for a few hours,” Sebastian complains. “I want to see her a little bit.”
Dominic laughs. “I had her all night last night, and she was a pill. Good luck.”
“She’s never a pill,” Sebastian croons. “She’s my sweet girl, right, Chloe?”
“Yah!” she answers, the only word she knows.
I giggle, and Damien comes over to lie next to me on the sand, kissing my temple.
“Are you happy, sweetheart?”
I look at him, look around at the beach and the three men who help me and take care of me and Chloe every day. I look around at my family and answer him honestly.
“Happier than I’ve ever been.”
And later that night, when we’re all sated after the throes of passion, it’s Sebastian who kisses my shoulder, nudging against me to get my attention.
“What’s up, babe?” I ask sleepily.
“I was thinking. We should have another baby.”
My eyes widen. “Another baby? Chloe is such a handful.”
“We have plenty of hands. ”
“You just want a baby because you know Chloe’s mine,” Damien crows, and I kick him under the blankets.
“She’s all of ours,” Dominic says stonily. “Just like Olivia.”
I grin widely and preen on the bed. “Just like me.”
They all attack me with kisses and cuddles and tickles, and I scream and giggle.
When they’re done, and I’m panting and trying to catch my breath from laughing, Gretchen knocks on the door.
“Chloe wanted to say goodnight,” she says, and brings her in.
I make grabby hands, taking her instantly and kissing her face until she squeals.
Chloe lounges on the bed like no one else is there, playing with Damien’s shirt buttons.
I look around at Sebastian, Damien, Dominic. Chloe. All these people that have come into my life and improved it.
I finally realize, there’s nothing more I want. There’s no brass ring to catch. I’ve already caught it.
I’m happy with my unorthodox little family, and that’s all that matters.
My eyes fall on Sebastian, and he is staring right at me.
I nod at him, and his smile brightens up the room.
I love my family, and a few more little ones running around will just make it even better.
“Let’s do it! ”
