“I will show you around later,” I promise him after I park my car and lead him to the pack house and towards the gamma suite.
“This is beautiful,” Luca emphasizes. “The pack house too. It looks like a castle.”
“It’s pretty old,” I explain. “It was extremely worn down and ugly when Alpha Liam and Luna Annalise took over, but they renovated it, as they did with the whole pack.”
“You really like them,” he muses.
“Who?” I blink.
“Your alpha and luna.” He smiles warmly at me. “It’s obvious you respect them and like them by how you talk about them.”
I open the door to my suite for him, noting how his eyes widen. “This is where you live?” he exclaims.
“I know it’s not as warm and cozy as Marcel’s cottage,” I admit. “It lacks…” my voice trails off.
“What does it lack?” Luca asks softly, turning around a bit and snuggling against my chest.
“You,” I admit, and feel like the biggest sap in the world. I should cringe at my own words, but the way Luca snuggles against me more makes my heart warm instead.
“Maybe we could switch between staying here and at Moon Blood for now,” Luca offers.
I’m surprised to say the least. I thought he wanted to date for a lot longer before agreeing to actually live together. Sure, he didn’t suggest moving here, and he didn’t ask me to move to his place, but we are getting there slowly. “We can definitely do that,” I tell him. “I’d love to spend more time with you.”
He beams at me, like he was scared I would shoot down his offer, and is now relieved I didn’t. My heart aches a bit at how anxious he sometimes is. To distract him, I take his hand in mine. “Let’s meet Luna Annalise.”
Luca nods, smiling slightly. “She is nice,” he admits. “I’d love to meet her properly.”
I link my luna, making sure Luca and I are welcome to meet her. Fortunately, she is with Ella at the moment, going through their schedule for the upcoming week. She smiles at us once we enter her office. “Jun,” she exclaims. “Finally, you brought your mate along.”
“Took you long enough.” Ella chuckles.
Luca looks a bit flustered. “That’s my fault, I guess.”
I nudge him softly. “They are just joking.”
“It’s great to meet you again,” Luna Annalise says. “Last time we didn’t have the chance to talk much.”
“We are so happy you and Jun found each other,” Ella nods.
The luna turns to look at me. “You didn’t meet Dave?”
“No, I apologize, Luna. He wasn’t home, and I couldn’t reach him,” I explain.
“Dave said he would be gone on a short trip, though,” Ella points out.
I frown. “A short trip? Dave?” Dave hates to pack for just a few days.
“Dave doesn’t like short trips.” Luna Annalise confirms my suspicion. “He is either traveling for longer or not at all.” She pauses. “He won’t answer any messages. I know, he probably wants to be alone for a bit, but—”
“You think he is going to do something stupid?” Ella wants to know.
“I think he wants to distract himself,” the luna says. “And I think whatever this distraction happens to be, he will take it.”
“Like looking for Lord Finn?” I hear myself say, surprised by my own thoughts. When the others look at me in shock, I shrug. “It’s just an idea…”
“That’s it,” Ella mutters. “Dave loves Finn, and we only just found out that he went MIA.”
“He is trying to track him.” Luna Annalise sighs.
